SCHRADER RON RITTER BOB {��ICKLANDER EVELYN NEWMAN ED STUART JAN JORDAN FRANK FRANKOVICH ANNETTE BRAND DELORIS ARCHER MAYOR SCHRADER CALLED THE RECESSED MEETING BACK TO ORDER AT THIS TIME . CONTINUATION OF THE 1989/ 1990 BUDGET WORKSHOP WAS HELD AT THIS TIME WITH DISCUSSION REGARDING TAE PARKS DEPARTMENT , A SUGGESTION WAS MADE TO CHANGE READING METERS EVERY OTHER MONTH , ELIMINATE PURCHASE OF A TRUCK BY MOVING SECOND READER TO PUBLIC WORKS , TRANSFERRING VEHICLE TO PARKS , AIR CONDITIONING AT LEAVESLEY PARK , CITY HALL AIR CONDITIONER AND 1776 PARK WAS DISCUSSED WITH COUNCIL CONCURRING NOTHING SHOULD BE DONE THIS YEAR DUE TO THE CONSTRUCTION PLANNED IN THIS AREA . LENGTHY DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING SWIMMING LESSONS THRU THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD VERSUS Y .M. C . MOTION APPROVED �� UNANIMOUSLY . 1 122 FINANCE DIRECTOR ROGER ROECKER PRESENTED OPTIONS ON WATER RATE INCREASE WHICH WAS DISCUSSED AT LENGTH . COUNCILMEMBER STUART STATED HE QUESTIONED BUDGETED AMOUNT FOR COLLECTION OF DELINQUENT TAXES , RECOGNIZING TAX ASSESSOR AND DELINQUENT TAX ATTORNEY HAS DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB AND STATED HE FELT THE SALES TAX SHOULD BE INCREASED TO $575 , 00� . ' �� DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING RENOVATIONS TO CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS , JAIL CELLS AND OFFICE FOR CITY SECRETARY . CITY MANAGER ASKED IF ANYONE HAD ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THE FIRE FIGHTERS AND SUGGESTED AGAIN THAT INVESTIGATE A PAID FIRE CHIEF WHICH COULD ACTIVELY RECRUIT DAY TIME PEOPLE , COULD BE LOOKING AT TRAINING , THE CITY WOULD BE MUCH BETTER SERVED AND THE VOLUNTEERS WOULD HAVE SOMEONE THAT COULD REPRESENT THE VOLUNTEER EFFORT AND ' STILL PROTECT THE CITY ' S FINANCIAL INTEREST .
