SHADOWBEND AND QUAKER LANE ON SATURDAX , JANUARY 21ST AT 9 : 00 AM. MAYOR SCHRADER REPORTED HE MET WITH REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE BRIO TASK FORCE LAST WEER AND THEY WERE PLEASED ABOUT THE CORRESPONDENCE SENT TO M—BANK AND RESPONSE FROM M—BANK THEY THEY HAVE RELEASED THE ASSETS THAT CONSIST OF THE REFINING STRUCTURE REQUESTING DISMANTLING OF BRIO PLANT SITE . MAYOR SCHRADER STATED A RESOLUTION IS ON THE AGENDA FOR COUNCIL ACTION ON THIS PROPOSITION URGING PUBLIC SUPPORT TO GET THE STRUCTURE REMOVED . MAYOR SCHRADER REPORTED THE SURFACE WATER CONVERSION PLAN WAS APPROVED BY TE7{AS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH . MAYOR SCHRADER REPORTED THE MEETING HELD ON SATURDAY TO ADDRESS A SENIOR CITIZENS NEEDS COMMITTEE WAS VERY WELL ATTENDED AND THAT IT LOOKED LIKE VILLAGE ON THE PARK RETIREMENT CENTER HAD SPACE THAT COULD BE UTILIZED FOR A SENIOR CITIZENS PROGRAM AND THAT FRIENDSWOOD NUTRITION , INC . WHICH IS MEALS ON WHEELS MAY BE ABLE TO INCLUDE SENIOR CITIZENS UNDER THEIR Ub1BRELLA . MAYOR SCHRADER REPORTED HE WILL APPOINT A COMMITTEE NEXT WEEK TO WORK �N THIS PROGRAM. ON BEHALF OF THE COUNCIL , MAYOR SCHRADER CONGRATULATED LARY ' S FLORIST FOR BEING SELECTED AS ONE OF THE INAUGURAL DESIGNERS . COUNCILMEMBER WICKLANDER REPORTED MEETING WITH SENATOR GRAMM AND DISCUSSED THE PROPOSED LEGISLATURE RAISES AND THAT SENATOR GRAMM WILL BE VOTING AGAINST THIS PROPOSAL . COUNCILMEMBER WICKLANDER ALSO REPORTED TF�AT SENATOR GRAMM SHARED WITH HIM A NEWS RELEASE ON PRESIDENT REAGAN ' S BUDGET WHICH INCLUDED THE CLEAR CREEK PROJECT . COUNCILMEMBER WICKLANDER REPORTED MITSUBISHI HELD A NEWS CONFERENCE TODAY TO ANNOUNCE THE LOCATION OF A $200 MILLION DOLLAR COPPER PLANT IN TEXAS CITY . COUNCILMEMBER WICKLANDER ATTENDED THIS NEWS CONFERENCE ALONG WITH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE � E3CECUTIVE DIRECTOR JANIS LOWE AND RALPH LOWE AND FOLLOWING THE NEWS CONFERENCE REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE MITSUBISHI BANK WERE GIVEN A TOUR OF FRIENDSWOOD . CHAMBER PRESIDENT LINDA YEAGER ANNOUNCED THE CHAMBER BANQUET WILL BE HELD SATURDAY , JANUARY 21ST AT 6 : 30 PF1 AT NASSAU BAY HILTON AND INVITED EVERYONE TO ATTEND . COUNCILMEMBER WICKLANDER REQUESTED THE RECORD REFLECT THIS IS A ONGOING PROJECT OVER MANY YEARS AND THIS RESOLUTION VERIFIES THE COUNCIL TOOK BACK IN APRIL WHEN EPA MET WITH COUNCYL AND DOES NOT CHANGE THE COUNCIL POLICY BUT DOES CONFIRM THE FACT THAT COUNCIL WANTS TO GET THE PLANT MOVED OUT IN A HURRY .
