MAYOR SCHRADER INTRODUCED TOM MANISON , NEWLY APPOINTED MEMBER TO CLEAR LARE AREA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION , PAU� MAAZ , PRESIDENT OF FRIENDSWOOD ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, LINDA YEAGER , PRESIDENT OF FRIENDSWOOD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND JANIS LOWE , EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF , FRIENDSWOOD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE . MR . GRIFFIN THANKED FRIENDSWOOD FOR ITS MEMBERSHIP , BRIEFLY STATED THE GOALS OF C . L .A .D .F . , REPORTING THEY REPRESENTED TEN MUNICIPALITY ' S AND PRESENTED A BROCHURE OF THC CLEAR LARE AREA INCLUDING FRIENDSWOOD . MR . ROBERT MO�T , WITH PERDUE � BRANDON AND FIELDER PRESENTED THE QIIARTERLY DELIIdQUENT TAX REPORT . MR . JON BRANSON, PARKS AND RECREATION COORDINATOR PRESENTED A REPORT ON. THE ANNUAL PADDLING CANaE SAFARI AND THANKED EVERYONE INVOLVED FOR THEIR SUPPORT , ANNOUNCED THE WINNERS OF THE VARIOUS CATEGORIES AND ALSO ANNOUNCED MAAR CLARK AND DAVE ZWINGMAN WERE ELECTED CO-CHAIRMEN OF THE 198g 4TH OF JULY STEERING COMMITTEE AND REPORTED THE NEXT MEETING WOULD BE NOVEMBER 30TH AND AT THAT TIME THE THEME FOR 1989 �TH OF JULY WILL BE ADOPTED . MR . RALPH LOWE APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL DUE TO READING IN THE PAPER THAT HE WAS THE OBJECT OF CONTROVERSY AND WISHED TO DISCUSS THIS WITH COUNCIL . RALPH LOWE READ A LETTER ON CITY LETTERHEAD DATED NOVEMBER 6 � 1988 FROM MAYOR PAUL SCHRADER ENDORSING WAYNE JOHNSON , CANDIDATE FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONER . MR . LOWE ASKED THE CITY SECRETARY IF SHE HAD A COPY OF THE LETTER IN THE MINUTES AS PART OF COUNCIL ACTION. CITY SECRETARY S.TATED SHE DID NOT . MR . LOWE PRESENTED CITY SECRETARY WITH A COPY AND ASKED THAT IT BE ATTACHED . MR . LOWE STATED HE DID SUPPORT BOB WICKLANDER IN THIS CAMPAIGN BUT DID NOT HAVE ANY THING TO DO WITH THE ADS BUT DID GIVE BOB WICRLANDER CONSENT TO USE HIS NAME IN SUPPORTING HIM. MAYOR SCHRADER COMMENTED HIS ONLY OBJECTION TO �WHAT WAS IN THE PAPER , WAS THAT IT DID NOT SAY FORMER OR EX MAYOR , WHICH IS WHAT HE THOUGHT IT SHOULD HAVE . MAYOA SCHRADER STATED THE POLITICAL ADVERTISEMENT THAT WAS IN THE aAL�EBTON COUNTY DAILY NEWB WA� TAKING ADVANTAGE OF AN AGREEMENT THAT HE HAD , TO STAY OUT OF IT . BY ADVERTISIN� THAT THE MAYOR OF FRSENDSWOOD WAS SUPPORTING A SF�GiF�� CANDIAAT� � WAS M2SL�AD�NQ . COUNCILMEMBER RITTER ASRED STATUS REPORT ON SPEED LIMITS IN FOREST BEND AND WEDGEWOaD SUDDIVISIONS . CITY MANAGER REPORTED THERE WAS A SURVEY CONDUCTED AND THE SPEED LIMITS IN THE RESIDENTIAL AREA' S WILL BE 20 MILES PER HOUR AND PROPER SIGNAGE � WILL BE GOING UP AS SOON AS P�SSIBLE AND THE OFFICIAL REPORT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ORDINANCE 300 WILL BE GIVEN TO COUNCIL . MAYOR SCHRADER REPORTED HE HAD RECEIVED CORRESPONDENCE FROM STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT AND THERE WILL BE A TRAFFIC STUDY FM 2351 FROM BLACKHAWK TO HOPE VILLAGE ROAD TO SEE IF THE SPEED LIMITS AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY COULD BE IMPLEMENTED TO HELP WITH THE TRAFFIC FLOW. MAYOR SCHRADER PRESENTED PLAQUE OF EXCELLENCE IN FINANCIAL REPORTING TO CITY MANAGER ANNETTE BRAND .
