TRANSFERRED TO THE STATE PARKS FOUNDATION THRU A LOT OF EFFORT
FROM A LOT OF PEOPLE . COUNCILP4AN WICKLANDER STATED , AS A MEMBER

'1'HREE" FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS , "I CAN ASSURE YOU THE DEVELOPMENT
OF THTS AREA INTO A CITY/COUNTY PARK" . COUNCXLMAN WICKLANDER

THANKING THEM FOR THEIR COOPERATION AND SUPPORT DURING THIS

COUNCILMAN NEWMAN ANNOUNCED THAT D & G ENTERPRISES HANDLED THE
PROMOTIONAL ITEMS AS THE OFFICIAL SESQUICENTENNIAL RETAILER HERE
IN FRIENDSWOOD AND THEY HAVE DUNATED 5% OF THE PROMOTIONAL RETAIL
SALES TO THE CITY .
COUNCILMAN LEE REMINDED COUNCIL OF THE HARRIS COUf1TY MAYORS AND
COUNCILMANS ASSOCIATION MEETING ON THURSDAY WITH TED WILLIS FROM
TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE AS SPEAKER AND STATED THAZ' SHE WILL BE
ATTENDSNG .
CHIEF WRIGHT PRESENTED OFFICERS SCOTT WILSON , RATiOfdA SA'I'SKY AND
JAMES T . RION AND PRESENTED BACKGROUND REGARDING THEIR HEROIC
EFFORTS TOWARDS SAVING DROWNING VICTIMS . THESE OFFICERS RECEIVED
THE "OFFICER OF THE YEAR" AWARD FROM THE HOUSZ'ON " 100" CLUB FOR
THEZR EFFORTS . MAXOR , COUNCIL AND CITIZENS ATTENDING THE MEETING
GAVE THESE OFFICERS A STADIDIN(3 OVATION .

CITY ATTORNEY RESEARCH THIS PETITION AND ADVISE COUNCIL

MR . ALEX ELLIS APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL TO ANNOUNCE A BENEFIT FOR
ARTIST LAURIE WHITEHEAD WHO RECENTLY HAD SURGERY , TO BE f�ELD
APRIL 30TH AND ORGED EVERYONE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS WORTHWHILE
PURPOSE .

PROJECT V AND REPORTED ON CHANGE ORDER FOR PROJECT IV IN THE
AMOUNT OF $2 , 652 . 26 AND TWO CHANGE ORDER FOR PROJECT V IN THE
AMOUNT OF $2 , 256 AND $300 . CITY MANAGER REPORTED THE ESTIMATES
ARE IN ON MOVING PORTIQN OF AMOCO PIPELINE AND LOOKS LIKE THEY

THE COUNTY PROJECT IS PROGRESSING AS SCfiEDULED , THE BRIDGE ON �
FRIENDSWOOD LINK ROAD IS ON SCHEDULE WITH AN ESTIMATED GOMPLETION
OF JUNE OR JULY . CITY MANAGER REPOATED DUG TO �1 R�QUEST FROM A
RESIDENT IN DUNBAR ESTATES STAF'F HAS BFEN RE;SEARCHING SMALL
PARCELS OF LAND THAT WERE SET ASIDE AND PLATTED AS CITY LOTS AND
DETERMINATION HAS BEEN MADE THAT THERE ARE 6 SUCH LOTS . T'HE CITY
ATTORNEY HAS ADVISED IN ORDER FOR THE CITY TO SELL THE PARKLAND
IT MUST BE PLACED BEFORE TFiE VOZ'ER AND REQUEST COUNCIL ALLOW A
RESOLqTION BE PREPARED TO PLACE THIS PROPOSITION ON THE MAY
