COUNCILMAN WICKLANDER STATED Tf#AT LAST WEEK HE ANNOUNCED HE WAS THINKING ABOUT RUNNING FOR COUNTY COP9MISSIONER PHECINCT THREF AS A REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE AND WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUi10E THAT HE IS CIRCULATING A PETITION FOR NOMINATI�N FOR THIS POSITION AT THIS TIME . *�MOTION WAS MADE BY COUNCILMArI JORDAN TO APPROVE SUSPENDING RULE N0 . 1 OF RESOLUTION N0 . R87- 15 , RULES AND PROCEDURES FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETING , TO ALLOW A REGULAR COUNCIL MEE�'ING BE CALLFll FOR THIS DATE , IN ACCORDANCE WITH RULE 18 , SUSPENSION UF RULES OF PROCEDURE . SECONDED BY COUNCILP9AN NEWMAN . APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY . PAUL SCHRADER APPEARED BEFaRE COUPICIL REPRESENTING THE HEROIC SERVICE COMMITTEE WHICH CONSISTED OF CARL �4URRAY , CITY MANAGER , PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR AND HIMSELF . MR . SCHRADER REPORTED THE COP9MITTEE WOULD LIY,E TO RECOMP9END THE HEROIC SERVICE P4EDAL BE PRESENTED IN A FOAMAL CEREMONY BY CITX COUNCIL TD EriPLOYEES , CITIZENS OR VISITORS UPON SELECTTON BY A SCREENING COMMITTEE . MR . MURRAY HAS PREPARED A DESIGN FOR THE MEDAL AFTER RESEARCHING THE EARLY BEGINNING OF FRIENDSWOOD AND INCORPORATING THE FIGLEAF , STAR AND A LARGE C TO STAND FOR COURAGE , TO BE PLACED UN RED , WHITE AND BLUE RIBBON FOR PRESENTATION . �9R . SCHRAD�R STATED THE COST OF THE MEDALS WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY �7 . 55 AND PLAQUES WOULD BE ROUGHLY $ 100 AFTER TFiE ONE TIME COST' OF $250 TO SET THE DIE . MR . COUNCIL THANKED THIS COMMITTEE FOR THEIR RESEARCH AND STATED THEY WOULU CONSIDER THIS PROPOSAL . BAKER STATED THE PROPERTY IN FRONT OF THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT WOULD REQUIRE REZONING FROt4 AN EXCESS OF 300 FT . DEEP COl7MERCIAL TO 200 FT . DEEP , WHICH 7'HE OWNERS HAVE NO OBJECTION T0 . MAYOR LOWE SUGGESTED THE COUNCIL P4EET WITH THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION THE FIRST MEETING IN JAP�UARY TO HELP WURK ON THIS PROJECT.
