MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD CITY COIINCIL THAT
WAS HELD ON JULY 16 , 1987 AT CITY HALL AT 7 : 00 PM WITH THE
FOLLOWING PRESENT CONSTITUTING A QUORUM:

CITY MANAGER ANNETTE BRAND
CITY SECRETARY DELORIS MCKENZIE
MAYOR LOWE AND PLANNING AND ZONING CHAIRMAN BENNY BAKER CALLED A
JOINT DOCKETED PUBLIC HEARING TO ORDER TO RECEIVE PUBLIC INPUT
BOTH WRITTEN AND ORALLY REGARAING REQUEST FOR REZONING FOR
PROPERTY LOCATED AT FM 52$ AND MQQRE ROAD , SOUTH WEST CORNER FR0�1
SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE TO COMMUNITY SHOPPING CENTER TO BE
T'I DEVELOPED AS A SPORTS COMPLEX .

� THE PROPOSED OWNERS OF THE GAVE A BRIEF PRESENTATION OUTLINING

MR . LEE GRIFFITH A3KED IF TRAFFIC CONTROL HAD BEEN LOOKED INTO
AND WAS ADVISED THERE WOULD BE TRAFFIC OUTLETS ON MOORE ROAD AND
. THAT TRAFFIC CONTROL �NTO Fri 528 DURING TOURNAMENTS WOULD BE
LOOKED INTO .
MAYOR LOWE STATED LOCATION OF UTILITIES WOULD NEED TO BE LOOKED
INTO AND STATED THAT MOORE ROAD WAS ONLY 40 ' WIDE AP�D THAT
POSSIBLY MQRE LAND WOULD BE NEEDED TO WIDEN THE ROAD FOR BETTER
TRAFFIC CONDITIONS .
PLANftING AND ZONING COt4MISSIONER GLENN CRESS STATED THAT POSSIBLY
A DRAINAGE DITCH WOULD NEED TO BE RELOCATED WHICH ALSO CROSSES
MAYOR LOWES LAND WHICH MAYOR LOWE STATED HE HAD NO OBJECTI�NS .
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSIONER KENT BALLARD ASKED COULD COUNCIL
REQUEST THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TO LOOK INTO A TRAFFIC LIGHT
AT THIS INTERSECTION WHICH COUNCIL CONCURRED THEY WOULD D0 .
WITH NO FURTHER PUBLIC INPUT , MAYOR LOWE AND PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION CHAIRMAN BENNY BAKER CLOSED THE PUBLIC HEARING.
MOTION WAS MADE AND APPRQVED TO ADJOURN AT 7 : 35 .
