THERE IS A SURFACE WATER MEETING PLANNED FOR NOVEMBER 15, 1986 AT THE HARRIS/GALVESTON SUBSIDENCE DISTRICT BUILDING AT 7 : 00 P.M. . AND THAT REG ARNOLD WITH THE WATER COMMISSION, THE MAYOR OF PASADENA AND JOP1 VANDEN BOSCH, HOUSTON PUBLIC WORKS DIRECT012 TNDICATED THEY WOULD BE ATTENDING THIS MEETING. COUNCILMAN WICKLANDER REPORTED THAT CIiRIS HARTUNG WITH RALPH ANDERSON AND ASSOCIATES CALLED AND WOULD LIKE TO MEET WITIi COUNCIL IN EXECUTIVE SESSION ON NOV EAIBER 10, 1986 AT 6 : 00 P.M. TO PRESENT REPORTS ON POTENTIAL CANDIDATES FOR THE CITY MANAGERS POSITION. COUNCILMAN WICKLANDER REPORTED HE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO DISCUSS THE SURFACE WATER PROGRAM WITH DOUG MATTHEWS, CITY MANAGER OF GALV ESTON, WHO HAS ADVISED THAT THE CITY OF GALV ESTON HAS AUTHORIZED THE GALVESTON COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY TO PURCHASE UP TO 18 MILLION GALLONS PER DAY OF WATER FROM THE SOUTH EAST HOUSTON WATER PLANT. COUNCILMAN NEWMAN ANNOUNCED THAT ON NOV Er�iBER 15, 1986 THE SESQUICENTENNIAL COMMITTEE HAS PLAI�]NED A FRONTIER DAY AT JONES HANGAR FROM 10 : 00 A.M TO 5 : 00 P.M. , PARKILdG WILL BE PRCNIDED AT THE FRIENDSWOOD HIGH SCHOOL WITH BUSES TRANSPORTING EVERYONE TO THE HANGAR DUE TO LACK OF PARKING FACILITIES AND THE HERITAGE MU5EUM WILL ALSO BE OPEN THAT DAY FOR TOURS . ALSO, AN ADOPTION CEREMOIQY WILL BE HELD FOR THOSE THAT WERE NOT BORN IN THE STATE OF TEXAS. AMBULANCE CHIEF ROBERT MCKAY APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL AND PRESENTED A REQUEST FOR A PAID PARAMEDIC WHICH WOULD COS'.I' APPROXIMATELY $31,500 PER YEAR BUT THAT THIS YEAR IT WOULD BE FOR ONLY SEVEN MONTHS AS IT WOULD BE AT LEAST FEBRUARY BEFORE EVERYTHING COULD BE FINALIZED. COUNCIL STATED THEY WERE IN FAV�R OF THIS PROPOSAL AND STATED THIS ITEM WOULD BE PLAC�D ON THE AGENDA FOR ACTION AT NEXT WEEKS COUNCIL NIEETING. CHUCK TALBOT ANNOUNCED THAT THE COMMUNITY APPEARANCE FALL HAUL A DAY WILL BE HELD ON NC7VEMBER 14TH AND 15TH WITH BEST WASTE PRCJVIDING CONTAINERS WHICH WILL BE PLACED IN STL'�IENSON PARK. THE COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD HAS HAD' BLUE PRINTS DRAWP� UP FOR JONrS HANGAR PARICING WHICH WILL INCLUDE GENERAL CLEANING UP AND LANDSCAPING. GARY LANDRY REPRESENTING ANNALEE HOMEO[��NERS ASSOCIATION APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL TO REQUEST THE STATUS OF THE BUSINESS THAT IS BEING DEVELOPED IN THE FRONT OF THIS SUBDIVISION. THE ACTING CITY MANAGER ADVISED THAT BUILDING INSPECTOR HAS BEEPJ INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT THE OWNER OF THIS PROPERTY AND AI7VISE A PERMIT I5 REQUIRED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A DRIVEWAY. THE ACTING CITY MANAGER STATED HE LOOKED AT THIS PROPERTY AND THAT AT THIS TYME AN ENTRANCE TO THE nUSINESS COULD NOT BE LOCATED ON Fh9 518 DUE TO CONSTRUCTION.
