MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD CITY COUNCIL THAT
WAS HELD ON OCTOBER b, 1986 AT CITY HALL AT 7 : 00 PM WITH THE

TEMPORARY BASIS AND AI3VISED THEY WERE AGREE'ABLE AND THE TWO CITY
ATTORNEYS WOULD WORK OUT AN AGREEMENT.
MAYOR LOW� REPORTED THE TAX ASSESSOR-COLLECTOR SUBMITTED THE
CERTIFIED TAX ROLL TODAY.
COUNCILMAN LEE ANNOUNCED THE 5WIMP�IING POOL WAS PROGRESSING VERY
W�LL AND SHOULD BE FINISHED IN TWO TO THREE WEEICS.
MAYOR LOWE READ CORRESPONDENCE THANKING FRIENDSWOOU
REPRESENTATIV ES FOR MEETING WITH THE ftEPRESENTATIVE FROM
AUSTRALIA TO DISCUSS ANNEXATION PROCEDURES USED BY THIS CITY IN
THE RECENT FOREST BEND ANNEXATION.
MAYOR L06VE RECOGNIZED THE POSTER WINNERS FOR "NATIONAL FIRE
PREVENTION WEEK" AND ALONG WITH FIRE MARSHAL VANCE RILEY
PRESENTED CERTIFICATES TO FOURTEEN ELEMENTARY STUDENTS.

PROPOSED LEFT-TUFtN AND CROS5CJVERS ON FM-518 FROM WHISPERING PINES
TO LEAGUE CITY - CITY LIMIT LINE AS PRESENTED BY THE ACTING CITY �
MANAGER AND SUBMIT TO THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT. J�

�RDINANCE OF THE CITY, BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF CERTAIN PARCELS
OF LAND LOCATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF FM 528 BETWEEN "THE PARK"
AND WINDING WAY FROM MULTI F'Ar9ILY AND COMMERCIAL TO SPECIFIC U5E-
PUD WITH AMENDMENTS TO THE EXHIBITS.

WITH THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD DOG ORDINANCE.

DISCtISSION WAS HELD R�GARDING THE 1986 TAX RATE WITH DIRECTOR OF
ADA�INISTRATIV E SERVICES STATING THE 1986/1987 BUDGET WAS FIGURED
BASED ON A PROJECTED $631 MILLION TAX ROLL WITH A TAX RATE OF
$. 695. THE TAX ASSESSOR-COLLECTOR ADVISED TODAY THE TAX ROLL IS
ACTUALLY $619 MILLION DOLLARS WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF
SUPPLEMENTAL ROLLS. COUNCILMAN JORDAN STATED THAT IT WOULD TAKE
A TAX RATE OF $ .705 TO SUPPORT THE ADOPTED BUDGET. COUNCILMAN
JORDAN REPORTED THAT LAST WEEK IT WAS DISCUSSED THAT SHE AND
COUNCILMAN PRIHODA EXPLORE THE POSSIBILITY OF DISCUSSING WITH THE
DRAINAGE DISTRICT USING THE $50, 000 THAT THE CITY HAD AGREED TO
GIV� THEM FOR MARYS CREEK, AND U5E THESE FUNDS INSTEAD FOR THE
MERRIWOOD DRAINAGE PROJFCT. COUNCILMAN JORDAN STATED THAT AFTER
SHE AND COUNCILMAN PRIHODA GAV E THIS ISSUE SOME THOUGHT THEY WISH
TO DECLINE T� PRESENT THIS REQUEST AS THEY FEEL IT WOULD NOT BE A
REASONABLE REQUEST TO MAKE OF THE DRAINAGE DISTRICT AS THEY FELT ,
THAT ROADSIDE DRAINAGE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CITY.

SUBSECTION A AND SUBSTITUTING THEREFOR A NEW SUBSECTIOIJ A;
PROVIDING NEW RATES FOR THE COLLECTION AND DISPUSAL OF GARBAGE,
TRASH, AND R�F'USE WITHIN THE CITY; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND
PROVISIONS RELATED TO TH� SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE �

WITH THE CITY ATTORNEY AND THERE ARE MANY POSSIBILITIES IN
SETTING THIS PROGRAM UP AND THE COMMITTEE WILL CONTINUE TO GATHER
INFORMATION. THE MAYOR HAS BEEN WORKING WITH S.E .MEA'IORIAL
HOSPITAL WHO HAS EXPRESSED AN TNTEREST IN DOING TH DRUG TESTING.
