WAS HELD ON SEPTEMBER 16 , 1985 AT CITY HALL AT 7 : 00 PM WITH THE
FOLLOWING PRESENT CONSTITUTING A QUURUM:

BENNY BAKER REPRESENTING THE 1985 4TH OF JULY FLAG COMhIITZ'EE
APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL AND PRESENTED CFiECKS TOTAI,ING
APPROXIMATELY $2, 300 FOR THE FI,AG FUND WHICH WAS RAIS�D FROM
DONATIONS AND RAFFLF OF A PRINT BY LAURIE WHITEHEAD.
MAYOR AND COUNCIL EXPRESSED THEIR APPRECIATION TO THIS COMMITTEE
FOR A JOB WELL DONE.
BENNY BAKER EXPRESSED HIS CONCERNS REGARDING THE SURROUPJDING
CITIES GROWTH COMMERCIALLY COMPI�IRED TO FRIENDSWOOD AND STATED
Z'HAT BUSINESSES WERE RELUCTANT TO LOCATF IN FRIENDSWOOD BECAU5E
OF THE STRICT REGULATIONS . MR. BAKER ASKED SHOULDN 'T WE LOOK AT
THESE REGULATIONS IN ORDER THAT WE CAN HELP BRING THE5E
BUSINESSES TO FRIENDSWOOD WHICH WOULD HELP OUR TAX BASE.
COUNCILMAN NEWMAN REPORTED THAT SHE AND COUNCILMAN JORDAN HAD
THE REPORT GOMPILED REGARDING RED FLAG SUBUIVISIONS AND THAT THEY
WOULD HAV E A RECOMMENDATION FOR COUNCTL CONSIDERATION NEXT WEEK.
COUNCILMAN WICKLANDER REPORTED THE CONTRACTOR FOR RECONSTRUCTION
� OF SUNSET PHASE II IS WITHIN 12 FEET FROM FM 528 AND THINKS THEY
' PLANNED TO POUR THIS PORTION TODAY.
