LOWE REPORTED HE RECENTLY ATTENDE�D A RECCPTION FOR THE � GOVERNOR MARK WHITE AT A SOUTHWEST CORRIDOR MAYORS MEETING AND � WAS ABLE TO TALK TO THE GC7VERNOR RFGARDING APPOINTMENT TO THE (� CLEAN AIR COMMITTEE. IF COUNCIL HAS NO OBJECTION MAYOR LOWE � W WOULD LIKE TO WRITE TO GOVERNOR WHITE RECOt4MENDING THI5 m APPOINTMENT. COUNCIL HAD NO OBJ�CTION. Q DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDIrIG WHETHER '.t'U PUT THE MUSTA�NG E�MBLEAI ON THE WATER TOWER. THE WA'I'ER TOWER WILL BE READY FOR PAINTZNG IN APPROXIMATELY 30 DAYS AND COUNCIL WILL MAKE THIS DECISION PRIOR TO THAT TIME . COUNCILMAN PRIHODA REPORTED TO COUNCIL TH11T HE I�AD SPOREN TO MARMON MOCK AND GREEN REGARDING THE STUDY THEY COMPLETED FOR THE CITY AND THAZ' THEY HAD A COPY OF A LF7'TE;R DATED 3-1-79 WHICH OUTLINED WEiAT WAS GIVEN TQ THE GITX P�IATII�GER. MARMON P9QCK AND GR�EN DO HAVE THE PJEGIITIVES ANP CAN r1AKE NFW MYLARS FOR USE AZ' A COST OF $6, 000 . COUNCIL WILL DECIDE LA7.'ER WHETHER OR NOT TO HAV E THESE MYLARS MADE. MAYOR LOWE REPORTED HE HAD SPOK�N TO FRANK WADLIDIGTON REGARDING THE 90 FEET RIGHT OF WAY ON FM 528 AND THAT MR.. WADLINGTON STATED THE 90 FEFT IS ENOUGH TO PUT IN �'OUR LANES WITH CURB AND GtlT2'ER WITH ONE TURNING LANE THAT WOULD SERVE THE AREA FQR THE NEXT 10 TO 20 YEARS. COUNCILMAN JORDAN ARRIV ED AT THI5 TIME. MAYOR L�WE STATED THE CITY NEEDED TO SET POLICY ON SETTING IMPRW EMENTS FAR ENOUGH BACK FOR 120 FEET OF RIGHT OF WAY FOR WIDENING TO 6 LANES LATER IN THE FUTURE. IT IS MR. WADLINGTONS OPINION THAT WHEN YOU GO TO SIX LANES THAT 120 FEET RIGHT OF WAY WOULD HAV E TO BE ACQUIRED FROM ALVIN TO I-45 . COUNCIL STATED A WRITTEN POLICY WAS DEFINITELY NEEDED. MAYOR LOWE LEFT THE MEETING AT THTS TIME. MAYOR PRO—TEM NEWMAN CALLFD THE BUDG�T FUBLIC HEARING BACK TO ORDER THAT HAD BEEN RECESSED FROM AUGUST 19, 1.985 . � DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING PURCHASE OF TWO TELEMENTRY RADIOS FOR THE AMBULANCE DIVISION. THE TRADE IN VALUE IS $3, 000 IF TWO UNITS ARE PURCHASED IN THE AMOUNT OF $27, 000 . COUNCIL ASKED THE CITY MANAGER TO CHECK INTO WHETHER THERE WAS A i�EASE PURCHASE OPTION CJVER A PERIOD OF APPROXIMATELY THREE YEARS. IF PURCHASED, DELIVERY WOULD BE JANUARY OR FEBRUARY 1986 . WITH STAF'F V ARIOUS PROJECTS SUDGET THIS YEAR THA`I' WERE CARRIED OVFR INTO THIS YEARS PROPOS�:D BUDGET AND THE UIF'FERENCF� IN THE � ., AMOUNTS AND EIOW TO APPLY THIS W ER�G�. THE STREET PLAN WAS REVIEWED BY COUNCII,MAN WICKLANDER WITH IT BEING STATED THERE WAS $650, 000 IN THE BUDGET FOR 85/86 . MAYOR LOWE RETURNED TO 7.'HE MEETING AT THlS TIME. COUNCILMAN WICKLANDER ASKED WFiAT tiVAS I,EF'T IN THE CUNTINGENCY FUND WITH THE CITY MANAGER AL7V ISING APPROXIr1A`I.'ELY $70,000 UF THE $175, 000 SET ASIDE WAS LEF'7' OVER.
