CHURCH. � MAYOR LOWE ANNOUNCED THAT CEREMONTES WOULD BE HELD FOR THE L.L.I OPENING OF THE 146 BRIDGE AND STATED EVERYO�E WA5 INVITED TO � ATTEND. Q MAYOR LOWE STATED HE HAD SPOKEN TO CHARLES HENLEY AT THE SUNMEADOW COUNTRY CLUB REGARDING THE WELL AND THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM MORE THAN THE RED WATER PROBLEM AND THAT HE HAD CONTACTED THE COUNTY HEALTH DEFARTMENT AND REQUESTED THE WELL BE CHECKED AND A REPORT TO BE GIV EN TO THE CITY MANAGER. MAYOR LOWE REPORTED THE CITY MANAGER ATTENDED A MEETING ON BRIO LAST WEEK WITH ANOTHER MEETING SCHEDULED NEXT WEEK AND MAYOR LOWE REPORTED � HE WAS HAVING AN INDEPENDENT TEST CONDUCTED. � MAYOR LOWE REPORTED HE HAD RECEIV ED A REPORT FROM THE TAX RESEARCH COUNCIL AND THAT THE FRIENDSWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT TAX RATE RANKED SECOND IN THE STATE OF TEXAS. MAYOR LOWE REPORTED ON THE FHA PROJECT TO BRING THE GALVESTON COUNTY LOAN VALUES OF $67,500 IN LINE WITH HARRIS COUNTY VALUES OE $90,000. MAYOR LOWE ASKED COUNCILMAN NEWMAN TO ELABORATE ON THE INFORMATION WHICH IS BEING COMPILED BY CITIES, DEVELOPERS AND REAL ESTATE AGENTS. COUNCILMAN NEWMAN STATED THAT MANY HOURS HAD GONE INTO THE REPORT WHICH SHOULD BE COMPLETED IN THE NEXT WEEK WHICH WILL DOCUMENT NEW HOME SALES AS WELL AS SALES OF PREVIOUSLY OWNED HOMES IN GALVESTON COUNTY. MR. BILL ROBERTSON, DEPUTY MANAGER OF THE F.H.A. HOUSTON OFFICE APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL TO STATE THAT THE LOCAL OFFTCE IS IN TOTAL SUPPORT� OF GALVESTON COU�TY CITIE5 EFFORT TO CHANGE THE INEQUITIES IN MORTGAGE AMOUNTS. MR. ROBERTSON STATED HIS OFFICE WOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR ASSISTANCE IN PREPARATION OF THE REPORT TO GO TO F.H.A. IN WASHINGTON, D.C. . MAYOR LOWE FROCLAIMED THE WEEK OF MAY 20 THRU THE 24TH AS "C�ACS J. D. BURNS WEEK" AND PRESENTED A PROCLAMATION TO COACH BURNS FOR 34 YEARS OF SERVICE IN THE TEACHING PROFESSION WITH 24 YEARS IN FRIENDSWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT. ' COUNCILMAN NEWMAN REPORTED THAT THE RESPONSE FROM RESIDENTS FROM THE MILL5, MURPHY AND BRTARMEADOW AREA ON WATER, SEWER AND ROADS HAD BEEN V ERY GOOD AND HOPED TO HAV E A REPORT FOR COUNCIL AT THE NEXT COUNCIL MEETING. MR. BILL FUSS, PRESIDENT 4F WEDGEWOOD HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION AND REPRESENTING LANDOLT P.T.A. APPEARED BE�ORE COUNCIL TO REQUEST COUNCIL SUPPORT FOR REQUEST TO CLEAR CREEK SCHOOL DISTRTCT FOR A AIGH SCHOOL WEST OF I-45 328 **MOTION WAS MADE BY COUNCTLMAN PRIHODA TO PRESENT A LETTER TO Cj�jg� THE CLEAR CREEK SCHOOL BOARD TUESDAY MAY 28, 1985 SUPPORTING THE � I PROPOSAL OF A HIGH SCHOOL WEST OF I-45 IN THE FRIENDSWOOD AREA AND ESTABLISHING LINES OF COMMUNICATION IN REGARDS TO SAFETY FACTORS AND UTILITIES. COUNCILMAN PRIHODA STATED THAT THE 100 CLUB, IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION WHICH WILL PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO DEPENDENTS OF OFFICERS WHO LOSE T�EIR LN ES IN THE LINE OF DUTY, TO PRCJVIDE LIFE PROTECTION EQUIPMENT, TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL AND LTFE SAVING PROGRAMS AND TO PROVIDE PUBLIC REGOGNITION FOR HEROIC AND/OR OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY.. COUNCILMAN BROWN THANKED THE PARAMEDICS WHO TRANSPORTED HIM TO THE HOSPITAL SUNDAY AND STATED HE APPRECIATED THE SKILLS IN WHICH THEY WERE PRCIFFICIENT IN TO DEAL WITH A POSSIBLE HEART ATTACK V ICTIM.
