MINUTES
1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm with the following members present:

2. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Michael Ross introduced himself to the committee, he plans to run for City Council position 6.
3. MINUTES
A. Consider approving the minutes of the Community and Economic Development
Committee Regular Meeting, held on January 8, 2025.
Motion to approve: Winnie
Second: Wiggins
Vote: 5/0 - Minutes Approved
4. DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Discuss the Community and Economic Development Committee economic
development and business retention strategy.
Internship Program — Future Works
The committee discussed the draft release given to students/parents to promote Future Works.
Friendswood Independent School District, Clear Creek Independent School District, Workforce
Solutions, and San Jacinto College are all on board to offer their services. CDEC is excited to
be 'the bridge' that connects students to job prospects. The goal is to start promoting Future
Works at the end of March.
Small Business Week 2025 —Pathways through Prosperity - Scheduled for May 5-9, 2025
The committee discussed details of the agenda and activities for small business week.
5. REPORTS
Aubrey gave the business report for January 2025.
