CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm with the following members present: CHAIR SUSAN ASIMAKIS VICE CHAIRMAN BLAISE GUZZETTA COMMITTEE MEMBER JUDY WIGGINS COMMITTEE MEMBER KYLE WINNE COMMITTEE MEMBER DEREK BROWN COMMITTEE MEMBER PAULINE MOORE COMMITTEE MEMBER ANDREA TRABANINO COUNCIL MEMBER SALLY BRANSON ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER STEVEN RHEA DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AUBREY HARBIN SECRETARY KRISTINA CUELLAR 2. PUBLIC COMMENTS 3. MINUTES A Consider approving the minutes of the Community and Economic Development Committee Regular Meeting, held on December 6, 2023. Motion to approve: Guzzetta Second: Brown Vote: 6/0 - Minutes Approved (1 member was not present for vote) 4. DISCUSSION ITEMS A Discuss the Community and Economic Development Committee economic development and business retention strategy. Asimakis informed the group that the Conroe trip was rescheduled to February 18 due to weather issues. She also stated that the message points presented to the City Council at the January meeting were well received. Diana Lopez, Geographical Information Services (GIS) Manager with The City of Friendswood, presented a draft of the restaurant survey. The survey will allow restaurant owners to be added to the master restaurant list for the city. Once the survey is finalized, committee members will ask a few locally -owned businesses to complete the study for a test run before it is available to the public. The committee plans to launch the survey and the message points to the public during Small Business Week, April 28 - May 4. Members of CEDC will talk with the collaboration group to discuss the possibility of having different businesses promote the message points and survey throughout Small Business Week. 5. REPORTS A. Received Staff Business Report. Harbin presented the business report for January.
