FRIENDSWOOD DRIVE, FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS MINUTES 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 4:03pm with the following members present: CHAIR SUSAN ASIMAKIS COMMITTEE MEMBER KYLE WINNE COMMITTEE MEMBER ANDREA TRABANINO COMMITTEE MEMBER PAULINE MOORE ASSITANT CITY MANAGER STEVEN RHEA SECRETARY KRISTINA CUELLAR ABSENT: VICE CHAIRMAN BLAISE GUZZETTA COMMITTEE MEMBER JUDY WIGGINS COMMITTEE MEMBER DEREK BROWN DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AUBREY HARBIN 2. PUBLIC COMMENTS N/A 3. MINUTES A Consider approving the minutes of the Community and Economic Development Committee Regular Meeting, held on November 2, 2022. Motion to approve: Winne Second: Trabanino Vote: 4 to 0 Approved 4. DISCUSSION ITEMS A Discuss the Community and Economic Development Committee collaboration meeting. Asimakis stated that she and Winnie attended the meeting as representatives for CDEC, members from Friendswood Downtown Economic Development Committee(FDEDC), Friends of Downtown Friendswood Association (FDFA) and the Chamber of Commerce were also present. She added that the meeting was ran effectively by Rhea and that all of the groups agreed CDEC should be the "centerpiece" and distribute information to the other groups. Winne stated that each group would come up with three to five main messaging points to discuss at the next meeting. Rhea stated that the groups ultimately agreed that they all should be reading from the same sheet when it comes to distributing and receiving information to/from the community. Asimakis adds that the information distributed needs to be sharpened and should include three to five marketing facts. Asimakis continued that collaborating with developers and brokers to understand their pitch points, would be helpful and would like Rhea to set up a visit with two or three of developers or brokers to be able to ask them questions. Winne stated that he would like to work on updating the CDEC website with city staff to be able to make it easy to navigate and provide needed information. 5. REPORTS A Receive the Staff Business Report. Rhea stated that he greatly appreciates everything the group has done this past year and is looking forward to what is next. 6. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 5:17 pm.
