Second Floor (CMO) Conference Room, City Hall 910 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546 1. Call to order The meeting was called to order at 2 p.m. with a quorum present. Present: Dr. Rebecca Hillenburg, President; Elmer "Bubba" Johnson, Vice President; Paul Marx, Secretary/Treasurer; Ron Cox, Member; Chris Richardson, Member; Scott Mackenzie, Member Staff members present: Steven Rhea, Assistant City Manager; Karen Horner, City Attorney; Aubrey Harbin, Director of Community Development; Kristina Cuellar, Secretary Councilmembers: Sally Branson Absent: Arden Trey Hill, Member 2. Citizen comments None. 3. Work Session Topics A. Discussion regarding future Friendswood Downtown Economic Development Corporation projects. The committee discussed the goals and objectives of the Downtown Improvement Plans District. Some members expressed the need to modify or re-evaluate these goals and objectives. They agreed to reassess whether the current goals are still viable. New ideas were proposed, including expanding streetlights beyond FM 518 into Laurel, installing tall branding signs, and determining the cost to straighten the light poles in the downtown district. Rhea presented an estimate for Christmas lighting from Dekra-lite, which ranged from $150,000 to $300,000. Per the request of the board, he will also create a spreadsheet detailing completed projects and those still pending in the current plan. Additionally, Rhea will ask Parks and Recreation to obtain a quote from Bright Lights for Christmas lighting and will gather the historical costs of Christmas lighting. 4. Adjournment With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 3:53 p.m.
