HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Minutes 1980-03-27 Special �_�( MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD CITY COUNCIL March 27 , 1980 The Friendswood City Council met in a Special Meeting at 7 : 30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27 , to participate jointly with the Planning Commission in a public hearing to consider rezoning certain parts oF a development known as the Miracle Mile. Dr. Avery and Dr. Dawson , the developers , presented their plan for the entire acreage . Ted Bogrin, their engineer, gave a more detailed explanation of the areas to be rezoned. Chairman Bob Wicklander opened the hearing to comments from the public. Persons approving the proposed rezoning were : George � Bofysil , Bernice Box representing E1 Dorado Estates , Wayne Gotsch, �, Mrs . Lillian Brown, and John James . � Speaking against the development were : Frederick Cobb , Mrs . (� Bullock, Mrs . Schmitz , Bob Petty, Tim Smith , Mr. Brinley, G. C. Hooks , ,� Mr. Bowman , and Mr. 0' Kane. Q Several other speakers had no objection to the planned develop- ment but raised questions as to adequacy of city Facilities , traffic problems , etc. These included: Mr. Vogis representing Sunmeadow Homeowners Assn. , Dot Greer, Jerry Fleeter , Leslie Dice, Mr. Dunn , and Ken Koppe.
