MINUTES OF A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD CITY COUNCIL
AND
THE PLANNING & ZONING COP1MISSION
March 1 , 1979
The Friendswood City Council convened jointly with the Planning
and Zoning Commission at 8 : 00 p .m . on Thursday , March l , 1979 ,
to consider a request for rezoning . Council members present
were :
Mayor Ralph Lowe City Manager Jim Morgan
Councilman Paul Maaz City Secretary Bobbie Henry
Councilman Ed Zeitler
Councilman R . J . Blanken
� Councilman Tom Lay
`�" Councilman Loren Wood
� With a quorum present , and with Councilman Whittenburg absent ,
� the public hearing proceeded as follows :
Q REZONING REQUEST has been received from Carolyn Cornett for a
105 foot by 120 foot lot at 311 Laurel which is presently zoned
C-1 . She wishes to tear down the existing residence and build
a duplex , thus her request for zoning to R-4 .
Mrs . Cornett has contacted her neighbors and found no objection
to a duplex at the location , and no adjoining property owners
appeared to speak against the rezoning .
Having heard the information available , the City Council was
adjourned , and will await the decision and recommendation from
the Planning Commission .
