HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Minutes 1979-02-15 Special �� �� MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD CITY COUNCIL February 15 , 1979 The Friendswood City Council and the Planning & Zoning Com- mission held a joint public hearing at the City Hall on Thursday, February 15 , 1979 , at 8 : 00 p.m. to consider certain � requests for rezoning. Members of the Council present were : � Mayor Ralph Lowe ' Councilman R. J. Blanken Councilman Edward Zeitler Councilman Loren Wood constituting a quorum, and the business was transacted as follows : REZONING ON LUNDY LANE FOR OLD TIME RELIGIOUS HOUR - Mr. Lupo is asking that this land be rezoned from R-1 to Specific Use - Church. A group is presently holding services in one of the existing buildings and active broadcasting is planned using the ex3sting tower. No opposition was voiced to rezoning of this property. REZONING OF PARCEL OF LAND 725 feet wide (fronting on FM 528 ) and 660 feet deep, out of the Burgess Subdivision , beginning 200 feet south of the CPS power station, belonging to George Bofysil. Due to the fact that the owner nor a representative were present to speak on this matter, no hearing was held and no action taken. ADJOURNMENT - Mayor Lowe adjourned the Council' s public hearing. �: � a City Secretary from notes � f� the Planning Commission secre ry) APPROVED: `�r �° �.� SECRETARY'S NOTE : The PF,ZC held. a public hearing on the Old Time Reli.gious Hour property on Pebruary 16 , 1978 . At a meeting on March 2 , 1978 , P&ZC voted "to rezone the property for specific use by metes and bounds (Exhibit A) as outlined by ferice on drawing for two permits : (1) TV tower and (2 ) TV station , church, and driveway to Lundy Lane contingent on an engineex of' the city ' s choice to check plans and specifications as well as final installation , upon completion of the tower. " This recommendation was never transmitted to Council , so no action has ever been taken until now on the rezoning request.
