MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD CTTY COliNCIL
May 3, 1976
A Regular Meeting of the Friendswood City Council was held at the City Hall
at 7: 30 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 1976, with the following members present;

With a quorum present,:�.and with Councilmen Haken and Patton absent, the
following business was transacted:
READING AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Minutes of a Regular Meeting of April

� l. Mr. Bob Foye, taho appeared before Council recently to ask support for
the Foster Children ComQni.ttee, than]ced thean for their support and
presented a signature copy of a Bill of Rights for Foster Children .
which the Council ratified.
2. Mr. Dickie Arndt requested extension of the Sunmeadow water line into ���(p
Brazoria County for 20-25 customers. Mr. Morgan was instructed to
• contact Alvin and Pearland to see if th� area is within their ETJ.
� The Utility Superinten.dent is to determirie where the tie-in would

be an.d size of line needed.

1. Awarding of Bid on Street Surfac ing q n � ��
MOTIUN: (Maaz) To concur with the recom�nendation of the
� � City Manager and award the�bid to the low bidder,
Brown � Root at $28,600.
Second: Haken
Vote: Unanimous FOR MOTION CARRIED
2. Purchase of Dump `I�uck - I�1r. Morgan reported that low bidder on �f_ ��
this vehicle,. South Loop For.d, now states that .a mistake was made
in the bid an.d the price should have been $12,684. A former
repair bill by this company which has been questioned, has been
settled on a 50-50 basis.
MOTION: (La.y) That the City Manager negotiate with the ne� low
. bidde�, Bud Brown Ford, for the equipment.

3. Waste Material, at Ball Park Site - This material dumped by the G�� - 7�p
street paving contractor, needs to be spread and some of the
larger slabs of concrete are to be relocated, necessitating use
of heavy equipment. Mr. Heaney is to get prices on moving the
materia.l; the cost will be borne by the Park Department or the
-_ Street Department.

WOOD: ESTABLZSHING STANDARDS FOR ELECTRICAL EQUIPMQ�]T; REGULATING
Tf� SALE, REPAIR, USE. AND REMOVAL OF ELECTRICAL WIRING EQUIPMENT
AND REQUIRING CONFORMITY THEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR FEES AND PENALTIES:

REPORT ON REGIONAL SEWER PLANT - Mr. Windler reported on Step 1
wrap-up; meetings starting next Monday night on right-of-way for
trunk lines; funding fo� the north interceptor; and lease to
Clearwood of one-forth of the north interceptor.
POLICE DEPARTMENT OPEN HOUSE is to be held on May 15, with an
awards banquet at Sunmeadow, sponsored by the Friendswood Bank,
in the evening.
ADJOURNMENT - Motion made and seconded that the meeting adjourn.
