I'� , MINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING — ANNEXATION SOUTH OF FM 528 January 2, 1973 � Following publication of a Public Notice in accordance with requirements of Texas Civil Statutes, the Friendswaod City Council he1d a Public- Hearing affording an opportunity for all those persons who wished to speak regarding a petition received from resiidents of this certain area requesting � that they be annexed into the City of Friendswood. � � Present were: � Mayor Ralph Lowe Councilman Richard Haken Councilman Benny Baker Councilman William Patton City Manager James Morgan City Secretary Bobbie Henry Mrs. Marie Moore, Journal Reporter Mr. C. A. Raney Mr, Glen Cress Mr, Dick Warren . Mr, R. L. Giles ' Mr, Glen Box � Mrs. Bernice Box Mrs. Diane Cooper Mr. James S. Cooper , � ' Mayor Lowe reviewed the purpose of the meeting and asked for comments from Councilmen present or citizensA Mr. Raney who presented the petition restated the consensus of signers that they knew city services cou1d not be made avail,ab1e to them in the + immediate future but they would rather become, a. part of Friendswood at this � time than chance annexation by League City. He stated that drainage and streets, constitute the greatest need in the area. Mayor Lowe said that he had been in contact with the County Commissioner regarding these problems. Mr, Cress and Mr. Warren spoke strongly for annexation of the larger proposed area for annexation which would include Sun Meadow, stating that in the event the City does not annex them now, they will praceed with the formation of a village.
