MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD CITY COUNCIL
December 11 , 1972 ', ,
.A Special Meeting of the Friendswood City Council was held in the Council
Chamber at City Hall at 7:30 p.m, on Monday, December 11 , 1972 to handle
two items of emergency nature:
1 , . Open bids on moving of utility lines in conjunction with the
project of widening. FM 518.through the City .
2. Adopt a resolution authorizing 'the'Mayor 11 to,.,sign„al,l documents
relative to application for grant for the subregional sewer system
Members present: Mayor Ralph Lowe
Councilman;Richard Haken
Councilman William Patton
Councilman, Benny Baker
Councilman Ralph Gonzalez
Councilman Milton Windler
Councilman Edward, Zeitler (late arrival )
With a quorum present, and with none absent, the business at hand was
transacted as follows:
ENGINEERING BIDS - MOVING OF UTILITY LINES ON FM 518
Mora Construction Company $146,914.75
Baytown Utility Corporation 169,030.00
Mainland Construction Company 141,875.34
All bids were referred to the City Manager and the City Engineer for review,
Commissioner Paul Hopkins and the County Engineer will also be asked to
examine the bids, 'Award will be made on the basis of these opinions.

RESOLUTION FOR GRANT APPLICATION - REGIONAL SEWER SYSTEM
MOTION: (Baker) For adoption of Resolution No. 14-72
Second: Windler
. .,Vote: FOR (7) AGAINST: none ,
. Motion carried
Mayor Lowe reported on a meeting with the Gulf ,Coast Waste Disposal
Authority, and stated that he feels this entity will not approve
Friendswood's Grant 'Application without full assurance that this
program will be in reality a "regional " system, Another meeting is
to be held very soon with GCWDA for further discussion on the matter,
ADJOURNMENT - Motion made by Councilman Haken, seconded by Councilman Patton
that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried, Meeting was adjourned.
