July 17, 1972
At 11 :45 p.m. on July 17, 1972, a Special Session of the Friendswood
City Council was called to order, having been duly posted, for the
i express purpose of approving and accepting -certain portions and improvements
of Shadowbend Subdivision.
Present were: Mayor Ralph Lowe
Councilman Edward Zeitler
Councilman Richard Haken
Councilman. Ralph Gonzalez
Councilman William Patton
Councilman Milton Windler
With a quorum present, and Councilman Benny Baker absent, the business was
transacted as follows :
Shadowbend Subdivision
Mr. Pete Workman has requested that the City accept improvements to streets,
drainage, and utility lines in the subdivision, for maintenance purposes.
This is necessary for FHA requirements in financing sale of property.
Originally the lines and streets were not in compliance with the City's
subdivision ordinance. With improvements , the street is still slightly
short of compliance due to an off-the-record agreement with the former
street superintendent. In addition, Sedora Drive, which is a part of
the subdivision, is not complete; however, during the meeting it was stated
that Sedora is a dedicated street.
MOTION: (Gonzalez) That the City accept improvements to the extension
of Garden Dirve in the Shadowbend Subdivision and to utility
_-- lines , and that a letter be written to this effect.
Second: Patton
Vote: FOR (6) Lowe, Zeitler, Haken, Gonzalez, Patton, Windler
AGAINST: none
Motion carried
Garbage Service - Attorney for Ed Bennett, garbage contractor, stated that
Mr. Bennett would like to be relieved of duty in Friendswood on August 1 ,
but that he would not insist if it would work a hardship on the City. '
Council discussed the possibility.of immediate purchase of a truck, but
decided to wait for truck bids to .be opened on July 24.
Adjournment - Motion by Councilman Patton, seconded by Councilman Windler,
t aft the meeting adjourn. The meeting was adjourned.
