HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Minutes 1968-09-30 Special Approved as read - 10/7/68 STATE OF TEXAS i COUNTY OF GALVESTON CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD i, MINUTES OF A SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 30, 1968 A Special meeting of the Friendswood City Council was held September 30, 1968 in the City Hall with the following members 'bresent: Ralph W. Somers Mayor James E. Mager Councilman George F. Prude Councilman Ronald G. Hamil Councilman Thomas F. Woods Councilman Edward F. Stuart Councilman with the following members absent to wit: NONE, constituting a quorum at which the following business was transacted. Three items discussed were: 1. Insurance. 2. Warrants on streets to get into the 1968 budget. 3. Wage adjustments for hourly employees. Linn Eignus celled Ralph Somers today and stated that his company would not submitt a plan for these policies. The proposal considered from Truman Taylor Insurance Agency in response to a request submitted on September 26, 1968 and received on September 30, 1968. The proposal is considered acceptable with the following options: a _,Pt-blic Employees Blanket Bond Item 16. b. Contractors Equipment Coverage Item 4a. Councilman Hamil made a motion to accept the policy as presented with the /q/'-&' options 16 and 4a as discussed. The motion was seconded by Councilman Woods,The vote was 5 for the proposal. Warrants: These warrants are all for the Fiscal Year 1968: G & A - 2405, 2406, 2423, 2424, 2425, 2426, 2427.. M & 0 - 3924. Councilman Stuart made a motion to approve warrants listed: The motion was seconded by Councilman Mager. The vote wa.s 5 for the motion. Salary Adjustments - Councilman Prude made the motion that Charlie Davis and Amado Elizando have their wages (basic hourly) be raised to a basic rate of $2.25. The motion- was seconded by Councilman Mager. The vote _A4-f was 5 for the proposal. Recess 10:10 P. M. Back in Session 11:30 P. M. 6/30/68: spec: Page 2 � Council authorized Mayor Somers to fill out application stating that the City would guarantee the $50,000 necessary for the library. i Councilman Hamil made a motion that Steve Stephens' salary be raised to $575.00 per month.
