MINUTES OF SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MAY 29, 1967
A special meeting of the Friendswood City Council was held May 29, 1967;
at City Hall. Present were Mayor Ralph Lowe; Councilmen Marvin Childers
Ralph Somers, Edward Stuart, Thomas Woods.
Mr. Louis Pauls discussed his position as fiscal agent. There was some
controversy as to the terminatian date of his contract.
Councilman Childers made a motion, seconcied by Councilman Somers, that
$200,400.00 plus accrued interest in League City Bank be transferred to
Friendswood Bank as per received proposal. Motion carried unanimously.
C ouncilman Somers made a motion, seconded by Council Murrell, that we
pay Mr. Louis Pauls his $2,750.00 bill dated May 29, 1967. M otion
carried unanimously.
Councilman Somers made a motion, secanded by Councilman Childers, to
approve the $1,500.00 bill by Bill Walsh for Quaker's Landing 27"
sewer line. The motion carried una.nimously. We need assurance from
` Mr. Guy Odom regarding intent to install the subdivision.
Following a discussion on the need for regular Council meetings the
first four Monday nights of each month, Councilman Childers made a
motian. seconded by Councilman Somers to instruct City Attorney to do
what is necessary for this. The motion carried unanimously.
Councilman Murrell made a motion, seconded by Councilman Childers,
for Mr. Jones to solicit two or more bidders to install the new cement-
asbestos 8" water Iine fram FM 518 approximately 1800 feet North along
Choate Aoad. The motion carried unanimously. Councilman Murrell will
clear with Mr. Walsh and Mr. Jerden about Mr. Jones doing definition,
maybe spesding up procurement of bids.
There was a discussfon on the need for an emergency Dog Ordinance.
This is to be discussed at the next council meeting.

Councilman Childers made a motion, seconded by Councilman Somers,
to adjourn. The motion carried unanimously.
