Sevres Dept. : Mayor :Lowe read a letter dated May 10, 1966 from G=.zy, Wilkinson, Galveston County Health Department to Mayor Ralph Lowe, re : Condition water and sewer �"aci li ties. (Attachment ;`l) The State inspection of Server Plant facilities slated for May t 25, 1066 was postponed by Mr. Gutierez and Mr. Powers. Because of the Sneed of -immediate improvements in the sewer plants far this state L n-- spectian, Henry Winston and 11'Iile Abby were hired on a temporary basis to assist in this concentrated program. After discussion, Cou;.ncilman. Davidson made a motion, seconded by Couin•cilraan Hatcher, that we hire Henry Winston and Mike Abby, for �'D— . Councilman Davidson made a motion, seconded by Councilman Murrell, that - that warrant h2457 to De Angelo Construction Co. 0-1 f 1. $1557.82 be ap- proved. Motion carried by unanimous v-ote. May 26., 1966-. Special Election-. T'ne results 'of this election were rresen-15ed to Council. Mayor Lowe read a letter dated 5-30-66 from James -El,. Shore, Election Judge to Mayor Lowe regarding Special City Election of May 26 1966 - (Attachment ?;'2) .) . Councilman Davidson requested that all elect,'-i on officials sign this letter. Mr. Hamil stated that his attorneys were looking Into the results of the election and should have some, answezrs as to whether suit will be filed by Monday, June 6, 1966. After dis- cussion, Councilman C.'hilders made a motion, seconded by Councilman Murrell, that the election results: Ralph W. Somers, 261; Ronald G. Hamil, 259: of the May 26, 1966 election be certified according to the report from the Election Judges and the Council' s own canvassing of the totals of the machines, without prejudice to either candidate to contest the results of the election. The vote was as follows : For: 2 Council-man Childers, Murrell: against : 2 - Councilmen Davidson, Hatcher; Mayor Lowe voted for the motion. Motion carried. Ralph W. Somers was sworn in as- City Councilman by Mayor LO. We. Proposed Ordinance: Rules of Procedure for City Council: Councilman Davidson requested that all 'Councilmen receive copies of a proposed ordinance for Procedures for City Council.
