HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Minutes 1964-12-15 Joint, Water & Sewer Commission MINUTES OF A JOINT MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD CITY COUNCIL, FRIENDSWOOD WATER AND SEWER COMMISSION AND W.C.&I.D. #21, December 15, 1964. A Joint meeting of the Friendswood City Council, the Friendswood Water and Sewer Commission, and W.C.& I.D. #21 was held December 15, 1964 7:30 P.M. at the High School conference room. Present were Harry Wagner, Dale Brown, Marvin Childers, Harry Hatcher, Arden Hill, Wesley Unruh, John Cartmill, R.J. James, Keith Smith, Norman Weaver, Coleman Carter, Buck Hausman, Jay Dasch, Lynn Eignus, Cyril Smith and Harry Jones, William Molley. Members of the W.C.& I.D. #21 reported to the meeting at 8:00 P.M. as requested. 7:30 P.M. It was unanimously decided that Norma.n Weaver be appointed as Chairman of the Water and Sewer Commission since M.F. Foster is no longer active in the Commission. Coleman Carter will check the legality of contracts with a m�nicipality of longer than a year ' s duration. It was decided to ask #21 to put money in escrow for their future water well : that if we sell them water, it be on a year to year basis in order that either party have a year' s notice of ceasation of the contract. 8:00 P.M. Buck Hausman stated that it is the intent of #21 to support the agreement between him and the City of Friendswood. #21 was asked its official publication for notices. It is Galveston Tribune. A motion introduced by Harry Hatcher and seconded by Dale Brown, introduced a resolution that the Friendswood City Council appoint R.J. James to represent the City as a board member on #21 ' s board, to work in the interest of �21 and the City of Friendswood. Motion passed unanimously. Council was in agreement that Dale Brown and Buck Hausman work together on annexation of sections of Annalea and Village Green as completed, taxation (municipal and #21 ) #21 agreed that they will start process for putting in Force Main immediately. #21 discussed buying water from the City. They would feel it fair to pay a bulk rate that included maintenance of supplying lines, supervisory costs etc. , but wouldn' t want to pay more than it would cost to supply their own water. Dale Brown made a motion that the Water and Sewer Commission meet with #21 to work out mutually satisfactory water rates; second by Marvin Childers, motion unanimous. Buck Hausman wishes discussion on the 80' lot width minimum. It was — recommended that he submit this questian to the Planning Commission. Arden Hill made motion that Roger May be asked to attend Council Meeting to discuss his plant ' s Industrial Waste. Motion seconded by Dale Brown, passed unanimously. Motion of ad�ournment was made by Harry Hatcher, seconded by Arden Hill, and passed unanimously.
