HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Minutes 1964-04-22 Special MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 22, 1964 A special meeting of the Friendswaod City Council was held April 22, 1964 at 8:00 P.M. in the Workman Building. Present were Mavor Harry D. Wagner, Councilmen Harry Hatcher, H.K. Speck, Alan McGinnis, and Arden Hill. There was a discussion of the tax issue. H.K. Speck reports that Viola Bost ardd Lawrence Cline have been consulted about making our tax rolls. Viola Bost has been most cooperative in making the schaol tax records available to use Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Mora have been hired to work in compiling our tax rolls with Viola Bost's assistance. Ordinance #34 subject: Appointing Tax Assessor for the city of Friendswood was introduced by Harry Hatcher for consideration of the City Council. H.K. Mayor Wagner made a resolution that Lawrence Cline be appointed Tax Assessor for the city of Friendswcod. Harry Hatcher moved that this appointment stand. Arden Hill seconded the motion. It was carried unanimously. A letter from the Galveston Chamber of Commerce was read. They invited the Mayor and City Councilmemen to attend ribbon cutting ceremonies for the Causeway Wednesday April 29, 1964. The city council decided to approve the proposed Shell Park picnic. Alan McGinnis moved that the meeting be adjourned. H..K. Speck secand- ed the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
