i A regular meeting of the Friendswood Citg Council was held Ma� 13,
� 1963•
Present were Mayor Kenneth Camp, Councilmen Yete Workman, Harry
Hatcher, H. R. Speck and Dale �rown. Visitors present were Curtis
Morris the city engineer and Harriett Trucks a reporter.
Mayor Camp read a letter from Jack Harrison the cit� attorn�y
concerning the buildin� codes. These cod es will be printed and
mailed to the city.
Mayor Camp exhibited the Arson Awar� notices which he had printed
and framed. These are to be posted in several conspieuous places
throughout the city.
Mayor Camp presented �he Council with sev�ral sample bulletins
from the Texas Municipal L�ague. These buZletins can be secured
by requ�st �i if the cit� subscribes to the Texas Municipal League.
The treasur�r is to send a check for � 36.00 to the Texas Municipal
League for our membership.
Insurance for the �i�� police car was discussed. More information
�ic is to be presented later.
i The drainage district wa9 discussed. Information was received by
llale Brown from Senator Swartz confirming that the Drainabe Bill
� ' h8d passed the House and Senate. This bill had been amended before
it would pass.
Curtis Morris pres�nted the Council with the l�tters on reports from
the Engineers Te�ting Laboratory concerning th� concrcte in the
streets of the �Harwood Subdivision. These letters confirmed that
the concrete meets the 4000 lb. test set by the city.
Dale rirown moved that a letter be sent to the own�rs of the subd�vision
stating that the city will accept the streets of the subdivision and
will operate and maintain same from this date. Moti�n seconded b�
H. K. Speck, motion carried unanimously.
A replot of lots 22 thru 36 of the Clear Creek Woods Subdivision,
dat�d April �953 was discussed. The changes to be made was the
increase in lot si�e of five lots. Pete Workman moved that we
accept the change, H. K. Speck s�conded, motion carried unanimously.
Curtis Morris suggssted that the city bu9 two joints of culvert tile
to be installed at the corner of Clear View and Heritage Drive to
widen the road at this corner as th� present culvert is too narrow
snd unsaf e. H. K. Speck moved that w� buy the tile, Harry Hatcher
seconded, moti�n carried unanimously. Count� is to install the
' said tile.
