MINIITES OF CITY COUNCIL MEETING APRIL l:i, 1g63
- A regular meeting of the Friendswood Cit� Council was held
� ! April 1, 1963 at the Friendswood School.

Present were : Mayor Kenneth Camp, Councilmen P�te Workman,
Leon Brown, C. C. Bost, Harry Hatcher and Gene Greathouse.
�isitors present were : Harriet Trucks, reporter; x. J. James,
Joe Schelling, E. H. Bundrett , Arden Hill , Jr. , W. S. Woods,
E. H. Atwell, E. W. Brautigan, uurtis Morris , Harr9 Wagn er,
W. L. gavard, Aubrey Cole, H�rold Smith, Charles Brown, Dale
Brown, H, K. Speck, Floyd Weber, Dennis Grizzle, �d Musselman,
Fred Krch, Wilber Boyle, Beth Holmes, reporter;
Minutes from March 25, 1963 meeting were read . Harry riatcher
made the motion to accept the minutes as read, Pete Workman
seconded the motion, motion passed unanimousl�.
Leon Brown made a motion to change the minimum lot size 70' in
width to 80' in width. Motion died for lack of a second .
It was the desire of the Majority of the council to leave the
minimum as 70' by 100' . We felt after making as long a study
as was made and getting the information which made ns arrive
at this figure it would be �he best for th� city during its
time of growing. This minimum was f ound to be 20' wider than
any of the twenty incorparated areas around Friendswood�
,i i After a lengthy discussion with the visitors at the meeting
� it was brou�ht �o a vot� with the council not being able to
� vote as to what size lots to set as a minimum. The first vote
was 8 for a `70' lot ; 6 for a 80' lot and 6 for a 90' lot . The
second vote was 8 for 70' lots, 6 for 84' lots and 5 for 90'
lots. The third vote was 11 for 80' lot� and 8 for �0' lots.
�� vote was held to find out the desired depth of lots and
it was found that 1 was for 100' lots, 2 for 110' lots and
14 for 120 ' lots. After the votin� Leon Brown made a motion
� to change our minimum lot sizes from 70' x 100 ' to 80' x 120' ,
C. C. Bost seconded the motion, motion passed unanimously.
Harry Hatcher made the motion that a subdivision having lots
less than 90' in width and 120' in depth would be required to
have have 6" concrete atreets curbs and gutters; C. C. Bost
second�d the motion, motion passed, Leon Brown voting against.
With these changes being approved �b� the cit� engineer, Mr. I,eon
Brown made the motian that we approve Ordinance f�23 to cover
the subdivision minimum standards. Harry Hatcher seconded the
motion, motion passed unanimously.

vote w�s cast is attached to these minutes.
Pete Workman motioned that we adjourn, Harry Hatcher seconded the
, motion, �iotion carried unanimousl�. Meetin� adjourned 10:50 P.M.
