iA regular meeting of the Friendswood City Cauncil was held February 4, 1963.

` � Present were: Mayor: Kenneth Camp; Councilmen: C. C. Bost, Pete Workman,
Leon Brown and Harry Hatcher. Visitors present were: Harriet Trucks,
Curtis Morris, Arden Hill, and Post Reporter.
Committeeman Leon Brown was asked to make a rep4rt on the changes to
be made in the City Planning Standards. 5everal changes are to be made and
were discussed at length with Curtis Marris. Mr. Morris will revise the
old Standards and the new Standards wiLl be read for approval at the next ,
meeting.
Committeeman Pete Workman was asked to make a report on Building Codes
and Permits. He read a list of suggestions on fees for utilities, domestic
and commercial. The Council is to study this and passibly approve at next
meeting.
Leon Brown made a motion to hire Mrs. Pete Workman as City Clerk at
$2.00 per hour, 3 hours a day. Hours to be 9: A. M. to 12: P. 1�/I. 5 days
a week. Motion seconded by Harry Hatcher, motioned carried. Eff.ective
date 2-11-63. A m4tion was made by Leon Brown to secure band for the new
City Clerk and also bond for Harry Hatcher, City Treasurer, in the amount
of $5, 000. 00_ each. Seconded by C. C. Bost, motion carried.

� Mayor Camp presented the Council with a petition signed by 125 people in
the City of Friendswood asking the Council to ca1l a special election to forbid
the sale of any alcoholic beverages within the City limits of Friendswood,
Texas. Council recommended it be extended to cover the voting precinct #40.
County Judge to be contacted.
-Chief Arden Hill asked the Council to approve of Mr. Bill Merchant as his
deputy, The members voiced their appraval.
