Minutes from the past meetin� were read and arproved �s read.
Mrs. I�?erchant met with the counciT! and d�scu;�sed wh,y bill Merchant
w��s suspended from the police force �:nd why t`r. r•�;erchant had not
beer �ranted a hearin� with th� council. S�eedi.n,� problems wi�hi�

appointed b,_y �enneth Camp to meet with Bill r°ierchant and discuss
t�_e reasor�s for his suspens�ar. 7�ater ir the meetin�; it w�s decided
that the whole c�uncil would. meet with 1vir. P�erch�:.nt at the be�in�ing
of the regular council meeting on �une 4th, 1962. The meetin<r to
begin at 7 :00 r.NI. ar�d l�Tr. T�lerchant was to be advised of the me�tin�
by t�iayor Kenneth C�mp.
A discussion was entered into about the system of police protection
carried on in �'r?endswood . lt was discussed between Arden Hill and
Norman i;hennault as to who was in char�e of t?�P �lice work in the
city; ti�at all working in the police department wculd take their
orders from �1r. nill and not the Tayor or cit;� councilmen.
�'ete Workman moved that we turr_ the naming of streets in the city
; over to the �,Vomen 's Auxiliary. I,eon �rown secon.ded tne motion,

meetin� f or L. C. Ei�nus to purcha:�e red li�ht and two f ive cell
flas'nli�hts for tre police car to read that �enneth �amp pLircra��e

l�lotion was made b� Gene Greathouse that we accert the ar�roved �
plat of lmperial �,states #2 as a new sub-division. `1�'he meti�>n
was seconded by rete �lorkman, motion passed .
