� A regular meeting of the Friendswood City Council was held April 9, 1962.
� Present were: Ex-Mayor, S, P. O'Farrell, Councilmen; Kenneth Camp,
Pete Workman, Leon Brown, Harry Hatcher and Linn Eignus. New Council-
rnen; C. C. Bost and G. V. Greathouse. Also present were Arden Hill, Norman
Chennault and a Photographer from Galveston Co. Press.
Paul reported that the meeting with Bill Merchant had not been held and also
that the annexation program had been bogged down, pending the approval of the
new Texas City, City Council,
Linn Eignus nzoved that the election returns be approved and certified to be
correct. Kenneth Camp seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Paul O'Farrell then proceeded to swear in the new mayor and councilmen.
After a discussion, Mayor Kenneth Camp appointed Arden C. Hill as Chief -
Of-Police and Lawrence Cline as Cit�y Judge. Leon Brown moved that these
appointments be approved. Pete Workman seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Kenneth Casnp reported that the 1961 Franchise Ta.x from Bell Telephone Co.
had been received. It was mentioned that this tax of $5520 00 was more than had

With no further business, the meeting adjourned.
