Also present was `�r. 0. 0, Terrell of the Gas TJt:ility Service Co*npan�. The ?ninutes of the last mesting were read and approned. Mayor 0'Farrell ask Mr. Terrell to discuss the Iva.tural G�s Franebise he wishes to Y:ave adopte3 by the Council. Mr. Terrell explained various p�rts of tl�e Franchise. He explained his Company's policy on making extentions or. existing lines. This policy is to allow 200 �'t. o� line extention without charge and then 5Q¢ per ft. for a11 over 200 ft. He sta.ted that his Company was not in the position to make any cash consideration :For a Fr�nchise at this time. He also pointed out that his Company was small 3nd th�refore much more flexible with their policies. Aftar discussing agreement with i�x. Terrell at some length, the Council ehose to post- gone final action until a later date. KennetY: Camp made a financial report showing a bank balance o�/,.��. �'� , and asked for permission to gay the following bills. Cecil 8rown (for ballots and rent on voting machine) $93.00, Vernon Law r�'.00k Co. (for law books) $145.00, Jack Aa.rrison (legal Council) $250.00, Village Office Su�ply (City supplies) $62.79, totaling $550•79• �ete Workman moved that the Treasurer be authorized to pay these bills, Leon Brown seeonded the motion. Motion carried. I � There was a discussion on the activities of the Chief of Police. It was noted that � he was doing a very good job, and that he certainly is entitled to some re-emburse- :nent to �neet his expenses. Pete �,Jorkrnan moved that Arden Hill be asked to attend the next meeting. Harry N_atcher seconded the motion. Motion carried. Pau1 0•Farx�11 reported that the State F.ighway Department had approved a four-lane highw�.y through the City of Friendswood. Construction to begin sometime in July.
