ORDINANCE NO. T2009-24
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS,
APPROVING THE RENAMING OF THE PORTION OF ROLLING
STONE DRIVE SOUTH OF SANDY LAKE DRIVE TO
"DOMINION COURT"; PROVIDING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND
PROVISIONS RELATED TO SUCH CHANGE; AND PROVIDING
A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Friendswood has received a request from the developer
of The Dominion, a private residential subdivision, to rename the portion of Rolling
Stone Drive south of Sandy Lake Drive to "Dominion Court"; and
WHEREAS, no homes or addresses front on this section of Rolling Stone Drive
and no changes are requested north of said intersection; and
WHEREAS, said City Council hereby finds and determines that the renaming of
the portion of Rolling Stone Drive south of Sandy Lake Drive to "Dominion Court" will

not affect the response time of emergency police, fire, and medical services to the
residents to be located upon such street; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIENDSWOOD,STATE OF TEXAS:
Section 1. The facts and matters set forth in the preamble of this Ordinance
are hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2. The request from the developer of The Dominion, as attached at
Exhibit A hereto and incorporated herein, is approved. That portion of Rolling Stone
Drive south of Sandy Lake Drive is hereby renamed to "Dominion Court".
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to provide for
the timely installation of proper street signs in accordance with this Ordinance.
Section 4. All new official or unofficial maps prepared by or authorized by
the City subsequent to the final passage of this Ordinance shall bear the street
designations contained in Section 2 of this Ordinance.
Section 5. The City Manager is hereby further authorized and directed to
advise the Federal Flood Insurance Administration as to the substance of the street
designations approved herein for inclusion in the official Flood Insurance Rate Map
(FIRM).
Section 6. In the event any clause phrase, provision, sentence, or part of this
Ordinance or the application of the same to any person or circumstances shall for any
reason be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction,
it shall not affect, impair, or invalidate this Ordinance as a whole or any part or provision
hereof other than the part declared to be invalid or unconstitutional; and the City Council
of the City of Friendswood, Texas, declares that it would have passed each and every part
of the same notwithstanding the omission of any such part thus declared to be invalid or
unconstitutional,whether there be one or more parts.
PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading this 5th day of October,2009.
