A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
TEXAS, NAMING A CIVIL RIGHTS OFFICER AND A LABOR STANDARDS
OFFICER AS WELL AS THEIR ALTERNATES FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT PROGRAMS AND AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT PROGRAMS;
REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS INCONSISTENT
OR IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S.
Department of the Treasury administer a variety of grant programs, including the Community Development
Block Grant Programs and the American Rescue Plan Act Program (collectively the "Programs"); and
WHEREAS, the Programs require the designation of a primary and alternate Civil Rights Officer
as well as a primary and alternate Labor Standards Officer; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to make the required appointments and ratify those of the
Mayor; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, STATE OF
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the facts and matters set forth in the recitals of this resolution are hereby found
to be true and correct.
Section 2. That in accordance with the Programs, the City Council hereby appoints the
persons in the following positions to the positions noted:
The City Council hereby grants the Mayor the authority to name specific individuals to the above-
referenced offices in the future so long as such appointments are consistent with this resolution.
Section 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions inconsistent or in conflict herewith are, to
the extent of such inconsistency, hereby repealed.
Section 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Friendswood.
INTRODUCED, READ AND PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of
Friendswood on this the 4' day of November. 2024.
