Subject: Ordinance 300
No Parking Zones for Sunset Drive
With the completion of the reconstruction of Sunset Drive nearing, new signage is requested to
reflect a No Parking Zone the entire length of the street. Previously, Sunset Drive was an open
ditch roadway with shoulders on both sides and a bicycle lane on one side. The conversion to curb
and gutter roadway no longer allows for citizens to park on the side of the road.
The Engineering Division has indicated that this request is warranted and will help to reduce
potential accidents. In accordance with Ordinance 300, please proceed to install No Parking signs
on Sunset Drive as indicated on the attached diagram.
Ordinance 300 should be amended to reflect the new zone designation. If you have any questions,
please let me know or contact Dan Johnson at 281-996-3295.
