A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS,
DECLARING THE NECESSITY FOR THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL
MEETING (PLANNING AND GOAL SETTING) OF CITY COUNCIL
ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 22, 2009, AT 8:30 AM AT DEER PARK
BATTLEGROUND GOLF COURSE CONFERENCE ROOM, 1600
GEORGIA, DEER PARK, TEXAS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
DISCUSSING PLANNING AND GOAL SETTING FOR THE CITY;
MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS; AND RATIFYING AND
CONFIRMING THE CALLING OF SUCH SPECIAL MEETING.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIENDSWOOD,TEXAS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the holding of a special
meeting of said Council at 8:30 AM, Thursday, January 22, 2009, Deer Park Battleground
Golf Course Conference Room, 1600 Georgia, Deer Park, Texas, is necessary due to
special circumstances where planning and goal setting is required,to wit;
The City Council will discuss planning and goal setting for the City. In addition, it has
been determined that the planning session be conducted at a neutral site, that is, one free of
political influence or distraction.
Section 2. The City Council hereby further finds and determines that the holding of the
special meeting described in Section 1, hereof is necessary to protect and preserve the
health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of the City of Friendswood, Texas.
Section 3. The action of the Mayor calling the special meeting described in Section 1,
hereof is hereby in all things approved, ratified, and confirmed.
PASSED,APPROVED,AND RESOLVED this the 22°d day Januarv 2009.
