A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, OFFICIALLY ENDING THE LOCAL
STATE OF DISASTER DECLARED BY THE MAYOR ON
SEPTEMBER 11, 2008, DUE TO HURRICANE IKE.
WHEREAS, on September 9, 2008, the Mayor declared a local state of disaster for the
City of Friendswood resulting from Hurricane IKE, and
WHEREAS, on September 17, 2008 the City Council extended the local state of disaster
proclaimed for the City of Friendswood by the Mayor; and
WHEREAS, on September 22, 2008, the City Council extended the local state of disaster
indefinitely until terminated by order of the Mayor or the City Council;
WHEREAS, the conditions necessitating declaration of a local state of disaster no longer
continue to exist;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the local state of disaster proclaimed for the City of Friendswood by
the Mayor on September 11, 2008, as a result of Hurricane Ike, shall be terminated by order of
the City Council.
Section 2. This resolution shall become effective on this 15th day of December,
2008.
PASSED, APPROVED AND RESOLVED this 15th day of December, 2008.
