ORDER ESTABLISHING PROCEDURE FOR CITY
OFFICERS ' ELECTION
STATE OF TEXAS
CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD
On this 20th day of February, 1984 , the City Council of the City
of Friendswood, Texas , convened in Regular session open to the
public , at the regular meeting place thereof with the following
members present , to wit ;
Mayor Ralph Lowe
Councilman Leon Brown
Councilman Bob Wicklander
Councilman Evelyn Newman
Councilman Paul Schrader
Councilman Jan Jordan
Councilman Bruce Branham
City Secretary Debris McKenzie
and the following absent : Ralph Lowe, Leon Brown e& Bruce Branham
constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings had were the
following:
Councilman Paul Schrader introduced a resolution and order
and moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman
Jan Jordan and the motion carrying with it the adoption
of the resolution and order prevailed by the following vote ,

The resolution and order are as follows :
Whereas the Friendswood City Charter provides that on April 7 ,
1984 , there shall be elected the following officials for this
city:
Mayor
Council Position #1
Council Position #3
Council Position #5
Whereas the laws of the State of Texas and Friendswood City Charter
provide that the Election Code of the State of Texas is applicable
to said election, and in order to comply with said Code , an order
should be passed establishing the procedure to be followed in said
election , and designation the voting place for said election.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIENDSWOOD, STATE OF TEXAS :
That all independent candidates at the election to be held on
April 7 , 1984 , for the above mentioned offices file their appli-
cations to become candidates with the City Secretary of this
City at City Hall , 109 Willowick on or before 30 days before the
date of said election.
All candidates shall file with said application the loyalty
affidavit required by Article 6 . 02 of. the Election Code .
This city having four election precincts , and election shall be
held at the following places in said city;
1. Election Precinct #56 at Friendswood City Hall , 109 Willowick.
2 . Election Precinct #57 at Westwood Elementary School, 506 West
Edgewood.
3. Election Precinct #60 at Friendswood Junior High School ,
402 Laurel.
4 . Election Precinct #474 , the Water District Office , 5006
Pennystone.
The City Secretary is hereby Authorized and instructed to
provide and furnish all necessary election supplies conduct
said election.
The order in which the names of the candidates are to be
printed on the ballot shall be determined by a drawing by
the City Secretary as provided by Article 6 . 05 c. Subd. 3 .
The Mayor shall give notice of this election in accordance
with the terms and provisions of Article 4 . 05 .
It is further found and determined that in accordance with
the order of this governing body, the Secretary posted written
notice of the date , place and subject of this meeting on the
bulletin board located in the City Hall, a place convenient
and readily accessible to the general public, and said notice
having been so posted and remaining posted continuously for
at least 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of said meeting.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of February , 1984 .
