HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Order 1984-02-20 - Election Order AN ORDER CALLING A REGULAR CITY OFFICIALS ELECTION STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF GALVESTON 0 I , Ralph Lowe , in my capacity as Mayor of the City of Friendswood , Texas , do hereby order that a regular election be held in said city on the 7th day of April , 1984 , for the purpose of electing the following officials for said City: Mayor Council Position #1 Council Position #3 Council Position #5 That said election shall be held at the following places , and the following named persons are hereby appointed officers for the election: Precinct #56 , at Friendswood City Hall, 109 Willowick, with r/ Lila. Ritter as Presiding Judge and R. J. Blanken as Alternate Judge. Precinct #57 , at Westwood Elementary School , 506 West Edge- wood, with Clarence White as Presiding Judge and Coylyn White as Alternate Judge. Precinct #60 , at Friendswood Junior High School , 402 Laurel , with Ruth Prengle as Presiding Judge and Phyllis Rummel as ✓ Alternate Judge. Precinct #474 , at the Water District Office , 5006 Pennystone , ✓ with Janice Fuss as Presiding Judge and Phyllis Middleton as Alternate Judge. The polls at each of the above designated polling places shall , on Election Day, be open from 7 : 00 o ' clock A.M. to 7 : 00 o ' clock P. M. Delores McKenzie is hereby appointed Clerk for absentee voting and Bobbie Henry and Pamela Henry are hereby appointed Deputy Clerks for absentee voting. The absentee voting for the above designated election shall be held at the office of the City Secretary , City Hall, 109 Willowick, within said City and said place of absentee voting shall remain open for at least eight hours on each day for absentee voting which is not a Saturday, a Sunday, or an official State holiday, beginning on the 20th day and continuing through the 4th day preceding the date of said election. Said place of voting shall remain open between the hours of 8 : 00 A.M. and 5 : 00 P.M. on each day for absentee voting. The above described place for absentee voting is also the absentee clerk ' s mailing address to which ballot applications and ballots voted by mail may be sent . Absentee voting , both by personal appearance and by mail , shall be by paper ballots and shall be sent to the respective polling places for canvassing . Notice of said election will be given in accordance with the terms and providions of Article 4 . 05 of the Election Code and the City Secretary is hereby instructed to have said notice posted and/or published in accordance with said Article. Immediately after said election is held, the officers holding the same shall make returns of the results thereof to the Mayor of this City as required by Election Code of this State.
