AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, ON NOVEMBER 3, 1981.

WHEREAS, an election was held in the City of Friendswood,
Texas, on November 3, 1981, at which one propositio n relating
to the issuance of bonds of the City and the levy of taxes to
pay said bonds, was submitted to the duly qualified, resident
electors of the City for their action thereon; and,
WHEREAS, there were cast at said election 973 votes, of
which number there were cast:
and,
PROPOSITION
FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $1,500,000 ROAD, BRIDGE AND STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS AT INTEREST RATES NOT TO EXCEED 13%, SAME TO BE ISSUED PRIOR TO APRIL 1, 1983 ......... , ...................... 497 votes
AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $1,500,000 ROAD, BRIDGE AND STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS AT INTEREST RATES NOT TO EXCEED 13%, SAHE TO BE ISSUED PRIOR TO APRIL 1, 1983 ................................ 476 votes
MAJORITY FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $1,500,000 ROAD, BRIDGE AND STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS AT INTEREST RATES NOT TO EXCEED 13%, SAME TO BE ISSUED PRIOR TO APRIL 1, 1983 ................................. 21 votes
WHEREAS, the above totals are shown in the official election
returns of said election heretofore submitted to the City Council
and filed with the City Secretary; and,
WHEREAS, said election was called and held in all respects
under and in strict conformity with the Constitution and laws
of the State of Texas and of the United States; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, STATE OF TEXAS:
Section 1. The matters and facts set forth in the preamble
of this Ordinance are hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2. The election held in the City of Friendswoo d,
Texas, on November 3, 1981, which is more fully described in the
preamble of this ordinance, was called and notice thereof was
given in accordance with law and the election was held in all
respects in conformity with law. Only qualified, resident
electors of the City voted in the election; returns of the
election have been lawfully made by the proper officials ; the
election has resulted favorably to the issuance of the bonds
described in the proposition submitted at the election and
to the levy and collection of the tax in payment thereof; and
more than a majority of the qualified voters voting at the
election have voted in favor of the proposition submitted at
such election.
Section 3 . The City Council of the City is hereby author-
ized to issue all of the bonds described in the aforesaid pro-
:
= position, to levy taxes in payment thereof, and to do any and
all things necessary or convenient in connection therewith.
Section 4, It is hereby found and determined that the
NOTICE OF MEETING, relating to the regular meeting of the City
Council at which this Ordinance was adopted, and heretofore
posted by the City Secretary, and the posting thereof, was pro-
per and said notice and posting are hereby authorized, approved,
adopted, ratified, and confirmed.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 16th day of November ,
1981.
