THE STATE OF TEXAS 0
CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD 0
On this the 30th day of April, 1973, the City Council of the City
of Friendswood, Texas, convened in Special Session open to the public at the
regular meeting place thereof with the following members present, to wit:
Mayor Ralph Lowe
Councilman Milton Windier
Councilman William Patton
Councilman Ralph Gonzalez
Councilman Richard Haken
Councilman Benny Baker
Councilman Edward Zeitler
and with the following absent:
constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings had were the following:
Councilman Patton introduced a resolution and order and moved
its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Haken
and the motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution and order pre-
vailed by the following vote,
AYES: 7
NOES: 0
The resolution is as follows:
There came on to be considered the returns of an election held on
the 30th day of April, 1973 for the purpose of determining who shall serve
in the position of City Councilman Position 2, and it appearing from said
returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election 1461
valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates in said election received
the following votes:
Ralph G. Gonzalez 795
William P. Jones 666
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIENDSWOOD, STATE OF TEXAS:
That said election was duly called; that notice of said election
was given in accordance with law, and that said election was held in accordance
with law, and that Ralph G. Gonzalez was duly elected to Position 2 of said
City at said election, and is hereby declared duly elected to said office
subject to the taking of oath as provided by the laws of the State of Texas.
It is further found and determined that in accordance with the order
of this governing body the Secretary posted written notice of the date, place
and subject of this meeting and said notice having been so posted and remaining
posted for at least three days preceding the date of this meeting.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this the 30th day of April, 1973.
