HomeMy WebLinkAboutZBOA Minutes 2002-01-22 Regular 209 Regular Meeting Zoning Board of Adjustment January 22,2002 Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Zoning Board of Adjustment of the City of Friendswood was held at City Hall on January 22,2002 at 7:00 p.m.with the following members present constituting a quorum: Chairman Ron Decker Regular Member Gary Yokum Regular Member David O'Brien Regular Member Lynda Harris • Alternate Member David Dannemiller Development Coordinator Diana Steelquist Staff Liaison Linda Thornton Chairman Decker called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Absent from this meeting: Greg Hughes,Ron Bazzy,and Thomas Rives Chairman Decker, called the hearing to order to receive public input regarding Mike and Jane Rebescher requesting a variance for property located at 700 Block of Cedarwood Drive, 1.4053 acre tract of land out of the Southeast''/2 of the Northwest'/2 of Lot 13,Block 3, Galveston County, Texas, for reduction of 25' side setback to a 10' side setback for Multi Family Residential-High(MFR-H)next to Single Family Residential (SFR) zone. City of Friendswood Code, Regulation Matrix,Section 7.Q.2.. Discussion followed with Mike and Jane Rebescher explaining the request. Doug Ulsh, 104 Echo Avenue,spoke for single story structure and against two story structure. Mr.Ulsh submitted a letter addressed to the Board dated Jan.21,2002. Gerald Vicker,208 Echo Avenue,spoke for single story structure and against two story structure. Hearing no further input the Public Hearing was closed.(7:10 pm) *David O'Brien made a motion to grant the variance for property located at 700 Block of Cedarwood Drive, 1.4053 acre tract of land out of the Southeast'A of the Northwest'/2 of Lot 13, Block 3,based on the conditions the units that are built are single story dwellings and the 10' side setback is kept as a green space. Seconded by Lynda Harris Motion approved 4-1 (Ron Decker opposed) *Gary Yokum made a motion to approve the December 18,2001 minutes amended as follows: property located at 302 W. Spreading Oaks,based on the fact the lot size was reduced by the construction of Spreading Oaks below two (2)acres and the petitioner stated the Friendswood Police Department had no problem with a rod iron open fence being erected on the corner that close to the street,for installing a fence past 25'front building line on a lot less than two(2)acres and is not on an F.M.road. Seconded by David O'Brian Motion approved unanimously ZBOA min 1/22/02 210 Chairman Decker reported to the Board his conversation with City Secretary Deloris McKenzie regarding the status of the Clemmon's case.
