MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE CENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE THAT
WAS HELD ON FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 1996 AT 5:30 PM AT UNIPLEX OFFICE PARK,
1414 S. FRIENDSWOOD DRIVE, FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS WITH THE FOLLOWING
PRESENT:

ABSENT FROM THE MEETING WERE MARY ELLEN BELLARD AND ED HARRIS.
**MOTION MADE BY JAMS LOWE TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER
11, 1995 MEETING.
SECONDED BY KITTEN HAJECATE. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
**MOTION MADE BY LAURIE WHITEHEAD TO APPROVE THE FINAL FINANCIAL
REPORT.
SECONDED BY KITTEN HAJECATE. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
A GENERAL DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING THE CENTENNIAL YEAR,
EVENTS HELD AND FUNDS RAISED. IT WAS NOTED THERE IS A FUND BALANCE
OF $12,822.
A LENGTHY DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING CONTINUING CENTENNIAL
PROJECTS WITH VARIOUS PROJECTS CONSIDERED.
**JANIS LOWE MOVED TO APPROVE, AS FUNDS WILL ALLOW, TO PLACE A
PLAQUE WITH THE HISTORY OF THE SILK FLAG IN THE CITY HALL COUNCIL
CHAMBERS, FRAMING OF THE PICTURE OF THE PAST MAYORS THAT ATTENDED
THE CITY HALL DEDICATION, PURCHASE A SCRAP BOOK, DONATE FRAMED 3 X 5
FLAGS TO ALL 11 SCHOOLS IN THE CITY AND SURROUNDING AREA, DEDICATE A
BENCH IN STEVENSON PARK FROM THE CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE AND LIGHT
THE FLAG POLES AT CITY HALL.
SECONDED BY LAURE WHITEHEAD. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING CONTINUING THE SALE OF THE BRICK
PAVERS DUE TO THE REQUESTS BEING RECEIVED WITH THE RECOMMENDATION
TO SUGGEST THE COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD CONSIDERING THIS
PROJECT AS A FUND RAISER.
CO-CHAIRS LOWE AND LEE PRESENTED CERTIFICATES TO EACH CENTENNIAL
COMMITTEE MEMBER AND RECAPPED THE LAST TWO AND ONE-HALF YEARS OF
PLANNING AND WORKING TOWARDS A SUCCESSFUL, MEMORABLE CENTENNIAL
YEAR.
A DELICIOUS COVERED DISH DINNER WAS ENJOYED BY CENTENNIAL
COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND INVITED GUESTS.
MOTION MADE AND APPROVED FOR AJOURNMENT.
