MINUTES OF THE CENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE MEETING THAT WAS
HELD ON WEDNESDAT.J_ SEPTEMBER 1uL 1994 AT PM AT UNIPLEX
OFFICE PARK , 1414 S . FRIENDSWOOD DRIVE , FRIENDSWOOD , TEXAS , WITH
THE FOLLOWING PRESENT CONSTITUTING A QUORUM:

**JANIS LOWE MOVED FOR APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF AUGUST 17 , 1994
WITH CORRECTION NOTED .
SECONDED BY KITTEN HAJECATE . MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY .
**KITTEN HAJECATE MOVED FOR APPROVAL OF THE FINANCIAL REPORT AS
PRESENTED .

DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING THE UPDATE ON POST MARK
WITH LAURIE WHITEHEAD SUBMITTING SAMPLE OF THE POST MARK
CANCELLATION AND REPORTED STATIONS HAVE BEEN DESIGNATED FOR THE
CANCELLATIONS AS FRANK J . BROWN HERITAGE MUSEUM FOR HERITAGE DAY
AND THE NEW CITY HALL . CO-CHAIR LEE AND LOWE REPORTED THERE WOULD
BE 500 CENTENNIAL NOTE CARDS WITH THE PROGRAM AND HISTORY OF THE
STAMP PRINTED BY THE POST OFFICE TO BE PASSED OUT ON HERITAGE DAY
AND THERE WILL BE 500 ENVELOPES WITH A SPACE SHUTTLE STAMP WILL
BE HAND STAMPED , SEALED IN PLASTIC AND SOLD BY THE POST OFFICE
WITH THE REVENUES TO GO TO THE POST OFFICE AND MUSEUM POST CARDS
WILL BE HAND STAMPED FOR THE MUSEUM TO SELL .
DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING HERITAGE DAY EVENTS WITH LAURIE
WHITEHEAD VOLUNTEERING TO CONTACT DR . ALVES REGARDING USE OF HER
PROPERTY ADJACENT TO THE MUSEUM TO PLACE THE TENT ON . CO-CHAIR
LEE REPORTED THAT ED HAS VOLUNTEERED TO HANDLE THE
LOGISTICS FOR THE SET UP OF TH TENT , STAGE , TABLES AND CHAIRS .
CO-CHAIR LOWE REPORTED ON A TEA OUT SECTION LISTING THE HERITAGE
SCHEDULE THAT CAN BE PRINTED B REPORTED NEW FOR $400 WITH THE
HERITAGE SOCIETY VOLUNTEERING TO UND $100 . DISCUSSION WAS HELD
REGARDING SENDING INVITATIONS TO 0 T OF TOWN RESIDENTS , USING

POST CARDS OR CENTENNIAL LETTERHEAD . HUBERTA MORA REPORTED
THERE WILL BE A TIPM HOUR PROGRAM PLANNED FOR HERITAGE DAY WITH
MEMBERS STATING THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE ENTERTAINMENT WITH r
DISCUSSION FOLLOWING FOR THE CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE TO SPONSOR
THREE ENTERTAINMENT TIMES. HUBERTA MORA REPORTED SHE HAS
REQUESTED PASTOR JOE ROHER TO BE MASTER OF CEREMONIES .
**JANIS LOWE MOVED FOR APPROVAL OF UP TO $300 FOR PRINTING OF
PULL OUT SCHEDULE FOR HERITAGE DAY BY REPORTER NEWS.

CO-CHAIR PHYLLIS LEE REPORTED ON THE CHAMBER BANQUET DESIGNATED
AS THE "CENTENNIAL BALL" AND REPORTED IT WOULD BE VERY BLACK TIE ,
VERY FORMAL , WITH A DISPLAY OF CENTENNIAL MATERIALS , WILL USE THE
BLACK AND GOLD COLOR THEME AND REPORTED THE CENTENNIAL PINS WILL
BE PRESENTED TO ALL AWARD WINNERS.
CO-CHAIR LEE REPORTED THAT THERE ARE TWO OPENINGS ON THE
CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE WITH CAROLYN (WRIGHT) VILLAS RESIGNING AND
WITH PATSY RAUCH ADVISING SHE IS WORKING IN HOUSTON AND WILL BE
UNABLE TO ATTEND THE MEETINGS.
DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING DEDICATION OF ZUE BALES MIDDLE
SCHOOL TO BE HELD SUNDAY , SEPTEMBER 25TH, WITH HUBERTA MORA TO BE
A SPEAKER AT THE DEDICATION TO PROVIDE THE HISTORY OF ZUE BALES
AND THE CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE WILL PARTICIPATE AS GREETERS .
DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING CO-CHAIRS LEE AND LOWE MEETING WITH
MEMBERS OF THE 4TH OF JULY COMMITTEE REGARDING THE 1995 4TH OF
JULY CEREMONIES AND CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE PARTICIPATION .
DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING SPONSORING A FLOAT TO CARRY
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE FOUNDING FAMILIES, CELEBRITIES AND
DIGNITARIES AND SPONSORING THE DIGNITARY LUNCHEON TO BE HELD IN
THE NEW CITY HALL .
**JANIS LOWE MOVED FOR THE CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE TO BE TOTALLY
RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DIGNITARIES/CELEBRITIES/REPRESENTATIVES OF
FOUNDING FAMILIES FOR THE ENTIRE 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION FROM THE
MORNING TO THE EVENING.
SECONDED BY KITTEN HAJECATE . MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY .
DISCUSSION WAS HELD WITH CHERYL BOYCE WITH ENBEE COMPANY
REGARDING CENTENNIAL BANNERS FOR THE MAIN STREETS FOR THE ENTIRE
YEAR . MS . BOYCE ADVISED BANNERS USUALLY LAST 3/6 MONTHS WITH
COSTS TO BE DETERMINED BY SIZE , WHETHER PRINTED ON BOTH SIDES OR
IF THEY ARE VERTICAL AND IF ONE OR MORE BANNER IS PLACED ON A
POLE .
CO-CHAIR LEE APPOINTED A SUB-COMMITTEE OF LEO BRAUN AND JANIS
LOWE WORK WITH TEXAS NEW MEXICO TO DETERMINE THE NUMBER OF
BANNERS NEEDED , SIZE , COLOR AND ETC .
MOTION WAS MADE AND APPROVED FOR ADJOURNMENT AT 7 : 10 PM WITH THE
NEXT MEETING BEING SET FOR OCTOBER 12TH AT 5 : 30 PM .
