FRIENDSWOOD DRIVE, FRIENDSWOOD,TEXAS,WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT CONSTITUTING A QUORUM: MAYOR KIMBALL BRIZENDINE MAYOR PRO-TEM JERRY ERICSSON COUNCILMEMBER LAURA EWING COUNCILMEMBER TRACY GOZA COUNCILMEMBER DAVID SMITH COUNCILMEMBER MEL MEASELES CITY ATTORNEY LOREN SMITH CITY MANAGER RON COX CITY SECRETARY DELORIS MCKENZIE Councilmember Shannon Kimmel was absent from the meeting. Mayor Brizendine called the meeting to order. 6:30 PM REGULAR SESSION The invocation was given by Reverend Sue Scott from Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. Mayor Brizendine led the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States and to the State of Texas. The Cline Elementary Third Grade Bell Ringers presented a special performance of patriotic music,directed by music teacher Phyllis Montgomery. RESOLUTION **Councilmember Measeles moved to approve Resolution No. R2005-18—A Resolution canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the General Election held May 7, 2005, for the purpose of electing two (2) Councilmembers to the City Council of the City of Friendswood,for Position No.2—John R. LeCour 1,915 and for Position No. 5—W. Chris Peden 2,043. Seconded by Councilmember Smith. The Motion was approved unanimously. Mayor Brizendine presented Certificates of Election to newly elected John R. LeCour and W. Chris Peden. OATHS OF OFFICE Judge James Woltz administered the Oaths of Office and swore in John R. LeCour for Council Position 2 and W. Chris Peden for Position No. 5. A reception was held immediately following the meeting.
