1. Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 7:04pm.
2. Communications from the public: NA
3. Discussion and possible action regarding April 17, 2013 minutes: Stacy Karacostas
made a motion to approve the minutes as corrected, Michelle Scarpa second the
motion and the motion was passed unanimously.
4. Discussion and possible action regarding the 2013, 4th of July Celebration.
A. Parade: Drew stated that we have 5 mayors confirmed for the Grand Marshal float.
The Lions Club is in charge of taking care of the parade float for the grand marshal.
B. Day: We need to create a timeline and script for the emcee of the day program.
Party Animals, Band, Train, and FFA providing lunch plates have all been confirmed.
Committee would like to have barricades by the new drive and lock the gate once all
vendors are in and set up in the park. Drew mentioned that JK Eats and More will be
bringing in a generator and will pay for the extra fee.
C. Evening: Tony stated that FFA wants to participate in the evening program. Staff
and committee don’t see a problem with that. James stated that he received a quote
for amusement rides in the amount of $4800.00; this includes day and evening
entertainment. Committee agreed to have amusement rides in the evening. James
stated that the sky diver hasn’t been confirmed yet, waiting for a sponsor. James
stated that we will need help for the amusement rides in the evening as far as staffing
the rides and selling wrist bands. The rides are running from 6-9pm. James will check on
cancellation policy for the amusement ride vendor in case we have to cancel the rides
due to rain. James stated that BMW is interested in sponsoring also we received a call
from David Weekly who is interested in sponsoring as well. We currently do not have a
sponsor for the skydivers
Next meeting will be on June 12th at 6:30 pm at Centennial Park and June 26th.
